It has to be said, you've got real talent Damon. Been watching your solo channel for a while now and the content keeps getting better. Really enjoyed the reflective nature of this one. Something about the story of the American who goes to Europe who returns to America. Fantastic.

I went to high school in Indiana and always saw someone I knew/knew of when I went out. That could be nice for familiarity but I think I prefer the anonymity of a big city (where I live now) I feel more free to be unapologetically me without the judgement of people I vaguely know.

Uh yes! Whenever I'm in my home town I get kinda anxious about meeting people from high school (that I don't like) because it is so small. Also the librarians and people at the backery recognize me lol. I used to be so confused that people who went to school in a bigger city are not constantly anticpating meeting someone they know whenever they leave the house.

I'm an American - I left for Europe in June 2010, I came back twice for a few days each for passport reasons, but I basically haven't been there for over ten years at this point. It was a bit hard for me to watch this video.I don't miss this life at all. I felt such anxiety in the grocery store and see those styles of houses. I'm glad you have a supportive family, it makes it easier.

Also if you're stuck next to a coughing person, you're stuck next to a coughing person for 8 hours. (And you'd think people think twice now getting or airplanes with a clearly bronchial cough, but no, people are not that responsible. And the flight attendants mostly just roll with it.)

I live in north carolina and I gotta say middle america has its own kind of beauty. we dont have many houses here like the ones in your video but my favorite kind where I live are the little ones built in the 50s-70s. I love the utility poles intermingling with the nature. the classic cars in peoples yards that are being fixed up. chain link fences with plants growing on them. at the age of 20 I haven't been able to travel beyond even the east coast yet but if I can love the suburbs in the south I know the other places will take my breath away
