I love that you just roll up to a nice lakefront restaurant at the end with a family eating lunch right there while your heart is pounding out of your chest.
That straight line down the service road into the left handed was scary to watch. I kept thinking about how you said the gravel/grass was loose in the practice video.
Anyway you'd share your heart rate or power data from that climb? I'm insanely curious what sort of effort that was. My power is always massively disappointing in mid-run climbs like these.
Next level effort on this stage! Pretty heavy sustained climb with quite a pace to execute on an Enduro bike. Definitely gotta give it up for both the bike handling and the endurance. BIG UP, Jesse!
Fantastic run Jesse...truly mesmerizing to watch. Smooooooth and fast; and this coming from a Moi Moi supporter. What a run...what a race, thankyou for sharing. Keep sendin' it 👊
Such a brutal stage, absolutely mammoth effort man, well done! God damn! Bonus little tidbit, can see Jack Moir sitting absolutely wrecked on the grass by the lake at 08:01 😄
So intense! Looks like a lot of fun. Thanks for posting, I always enjoy seeing your race runs. It's the most interesting part of the EWS coverage. That climb should be in an xc world cup lol.
Jesse, that was an epic race run. How the hell did you get downhill speeds up hill? What part of your training helps you the most in those climbs? Riding all the time in Whistler, leg weight training, or intervals? I am sure you will say it is a combo, but there has to be one thing that allows you to haul so much up that incline. Love all the videos you are releasing. Keep it up, ride fast and stay safe!
haha I will say that it is a combo. I've been training for years and years now and continue with strength training and intervals all year long. No shortcuts really.
@@JesseMelamedMTB Thank you so much for the reply. I am 54, and I want to try to race a EWS100/80 next year at Burke Mountain. Problem is I have gained 25lbs during the pandemic and I am at the heaviest I have ever been. Watching you kill the hills makes me want to try that. So thank you again for all your videos.
Do you actually go for the climbswitch (or maybe remote?) in moments like that? Or is the backend of the Altitude that well designed that you just power through the bit of bounce in an uphill section? Nonetheless: GREAT job! Congrats for #3!
Either you have a motor hidden in your downtube or you're a robot, that's not normal being able to climb that fast. Only kidding, respect! This is nuts.
