I swear Vernon x any pop punk sound is absolute perfection. First we had two minus one and now black eye. I swear his voice is literal perfection for these songs. I couldn’t even tell the difference between the live version and studio version either

“Black Eye” has such a nostalgic feel to it like even if you didn’t listen to that pop-punk sound. The 2000’s feel really resonates throughout the song and music video even down to the way it’s edited.

yes, vernon is indeed bold when it comes to expressing himself especially to this song. vernon is like, "This is what i mean, so this is what i am going to say. i will just going to say whatever i mean" period

I'm also loving how different both versions sound like. The original MV version sounds so crisp and raw attacking your ears in a very good way meanwhile the live band version sounds so soft mainly bcs of his sweet vocals and he seemed more relaxed which touches your heart even more 🥺 as a Dolly's (vernon unofficial subfandom), i couldn't express enough how happy and proud i am for this mixtape release and the long waits are totally worth it. It's such a brave and at the same time vulnerable delivery from Vernon to the world. He is definitely should release an album with this genre bcs it's totally made for him 😍❤

This song has me feeling all sorts of things but for silly reasons. The first time I watched the MV when the title came on screen I thought it said "Duck Sue" (I was not wearing my glasses), and it took me a while to get over the giggles. Then by the time I mellowed I was happily head bopping and it gets to the chorus and I'm like put a muzzle on who now? Spit where? Did I just get propositioned? Anyway, it's a solid bop, and it would fit perfectly with all the pop punk I used to listen to when I was an angsty teenager. Like this could legitimately shuffle on between All American Rejects and Blink 182 and I'd be none the wiser. It's so good.

Vernon is a WHOLE problem for me. 😂 Thanks to him, I really get why you tell artists you're reacting to, to get off the d*mn song sometimes. It's the pretty smile, for me. 😁✨ At this point I've just accepted he's Bias. He can be the whole bias LINE for all I care. He's not gonna give me any peace either way. 🤣

I had to take a break from this song and come back to it because the lyrics were actually too much for me - idk. I know this is going to sound .... self centered? Maybe? But for whatever reason when I heard it, I put myself in the sunshine person's place, not in Vernon's place, and it just hit tooooooo harrrrrd. Now I am able to listen to it with a little distance so I'm not taking it too personally hahahaha And also the visuals were a lot??? So I was listening to your comments and not actually watching as much, and I was able to enjoy it sooooo much more.
