If you want to see more of this camping rig in its element, be sure to check out our latest video from the Pacific Northwest: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OiuHbMRPqjo.html
Beautiful video. Beautiful rig set up. Beautiful family. Beautiful campsite. Beautiful experience watching your skills and presence in showing how you care deeply for all that is around you! Thank you so much for sharing your talent, your love, and your passion!
Insanely well done video, so glad YT put this on the home page recommendation! Awesome to see you guys out there living your best life, especially sharing it with the little ones… Can’t wait to see more 🤘
Hey, thank you so much! Hope we cross paths with people like you out in the wilderness. I enjoyed seeing your footage from Idaho. We travel through that state a lot, but have explored almost none of it. The first clip in this video was our first time camping in Idaho. We were in the National Forest North East of Coeur d'Alene if I recall correctly.
I’ve been overlanding to national parks in a Chevy ZR2 AEV Bison since 2019 but just added a 2024 Outback Wilderness to my fleet. Even though I just returned from a trip to Rocky Mountain National Park, your video has me pumped for the next adventure. Thanks for sharing your beautiful family and videography skills with the world! Both are gifts from Above! Cheers! 🍻
@@DarkSkyOverland Thank you! What an awesome Creator we have. We were actually just in the Rocky Mountain National Park in July. Sooo epic. Hoping to cross through all of Colorado state in a few weeks and maybe stay awhile in the mountains. The Outback Wilderness has to be one of the most practical adventure/everything vehicles. Have fun out there!
Thank you! 🙏 We were highly motivated by responses like yours and went straight back out into the PNW to make more: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OiuHbMRPqjo.html
Ran across your video in my feed, absolutely blown away on your editing skills. My wife and I are hooked. Keep up the great content, you gained a few more subscribers.🤙
BLOODY LOVELY 😮 Yep, that is what a nice 4x4 vehicle commercial should look like - magnificent shots and people having times of their life discovering the beauty of great outdoors ❤
Would love a listing of the accessories you added to your car, especially the front bull bar and the overland unit you used on your roof. Good job by the way!
@@PaulValenza Will definitely be posting a walkthrough of the build once I’ve compiled everything. The bumper is the Body Armor Crosstrek 4x4 Hiline Front Winch Bumper purchased from Recon Recovery. It’s a tedious task cutting the bumper, but I like it a lot. It is a very good balance between the light bars that provide no protection and the full blown cut bumpers that are triple the price. It may not add clearance like the more expensive ones, but it has no problem ramming it into rocks, dirt, brush etc. Built like a tank. Roof rack/wing racks are NashFabCo. Just a cool alternative to Prinsu. The rooftop tent is Nature Nest (or BAMACAR same brand) purchased off Amazon. Unbeatable quality tent for the price on Amazon. Will try to compile more details for you. Appreciate the watch and the questions!
Road trip to Zion, Bryce and Arches this past week with a Fusion, 4Runner would have gotten us farther off the beaten path but still amazing vistas along the paved roads.
Your videos are sooooo inspiring and spectacular!! Beautiful scenery, beautiful music, beautiful family! Thank you so much for sharing. Please keep up with the amazing work. I am a loyal fan from now on. And I hope you can share your gears and how you do filming and video editing when you get a chance. So eager to learn!
Will absolutely do what I can to share video gear, techniques, process behind these. It's chaos, but very fulfilling chaos. So glad you enjoyed the videos and thank you for taking the time to leave comments!
Wow! this is awesome! Your amazing Subaru, stunning camping gear, breathtaking photography, and videos are all so impressive. Your wonderful family is truly inspiring. Thank you for sharing your incredible talent, love, and enthusiasm!
I like to thank the RU-vid algorithm for showing me your channel. I’m all about Subie adventures as well. But I have a feeling you guys will be upgrading to eventually. Great photography and editing. A well put together clip that yes, Subaru should use in an ad!!
Thank you! Yes, we wouldn’t be disappointed to see the family grow, but we would be pretty disappointed to outgrow the Xtrek. We love it. Maybe Subaru will release an Ascent Wilderness by the time an upgrade is needed.
Nice video. Hard to believe this is the only public video on your channel. I must say (jokingly) that as a Coloradan with lots of experience with Subarus and Subaru owners, the most out of place thing in this ‘ad’ is the Subaru itself. All joking aside, you definitely have the coolest Subaru I’ve seen! I hope to see more videos soon.
Thank you! Will be trying to get a walkthrough of the build up asap. I have no idea what I’m doing when it comes to cars, but after a year and a half of slapping things onto this Xtrek, we’re having a blast.
Wow, thank you! I use a Sony A7 SIII and a Rokinon V AF Cine Lens, the 35mm prime and 75mm prime along with their 1.7x Anamorphic adapter. It’s a weird setup.
Love the video! Just curious, why put so much gear on the crosstrek instead of buying a more spacious forester? Esp w a family, I drive forester so Im def biased 😉🙌🌲✨️🚙🏕
Your Forester would definitely be a better vehicle for this. Quite simply, it’s what we had so it’s what we used. I drove a lot for work and this was once a perfect fuel efficient vehicle for that. We started wanting to go on more adventures and just worked with what we had. No real reason… but an unintentional consequence is meeting a lot of people on the road simply because seeing a Crosstrek built out like this is so unusual. Won’t be too long before an upgrade is due though. 🫡☺️
Thank you! I really wish we had the extra space of a Forester! The wilderness models look sooo epic too. But an Xtrek is what we had so we just went full sent with that. 😎
Just involuntarily switched from the DJI Mini 3 Pro to the Air 3 right before making this video (car was broken into and all my photo gear was stolen). I actually liked the image quality of the Mini 3 Pro better than this Air 3. The Mini Pro was also much more quiet and discrete;; however, with this Air 3 you gain about 10mph more speed as well as the dual camera (zoom lens) which was critical for the fast moving shots in this video.
Saw airsoft in your name and clicked on the profile. We have a decent family airsoft arsenal, but the games you go to are on another level. Epic. Also, saw a really old clip of your buddy getting head eyes'd in the Postman Pat room on Factory in Tarkov. Sooo many good memories from that game. 😂🤣😂
It definitely exceeds the dynamic rating, which I believe is 175lbs. Our tent alone is 175lbs. We try to store our highest volume, lowest weight gear in the roof boxes: sleeping bags, folding chairs, etc. Static, I believe is 750lbs. We feel virtually no difference in handling. We have the Spec C (heavier rated) Ironman suspension.
@@TylerandHannah got it..that would basically void warranty here in Australia if exceeding roof load rating capacity. Not sure how warranty implications would work in the US but definitely a no no in Australia
@@TylerandHannahthis might have been what the other commenter meant, but here in Australia overloading voids car insurance, so if we do that and crash, our repair or their repair or any injury is not covered and is all out of pocket. Worse, if the roof load causes an injury, eg comes off and hits a trailing vehicle, the driver will be considered to be at fault in our legal system (because it can be argued that there is enough info available to know what the limit is). As an xv driver I think the roof dynamic load is 68kg, which is inclusive of the rack weight. Not sure if you're doing much more than slightly rutted gravel, but we also tend towards a torsional factor of 3/4 or less when off road, due to additional twisting strain and sometimes heavy side to side jerky motion if bouncing over ruts. It can be over cautious and some rack systems are built really tough, but that ends up meaning they're tougher than the car, and some off roading RU-vidrs over here have had racks fail without being particularly hard on them, as they're mainly designed for highway driving. Beautiful video and cool rig. Check your overall vehicle weight as well, though the extra suspension might have given you a boost on that front. In the end we did upgrade from an 08 Forester because with the weight of two adults and two growing kids plus gear, we ran out of weight limit. Our xv is now the "lightweight" small trip vehicle. Lovely colour grade. Keep going, stay safe.
Nature Nest tent off Amazon. Can’t recommend it enough. Running a 13 cubic ft “Tuffiom” rooftop box from Amazon along with a Pelican Air 1745 using a 3D printed quick release mount. Hoping to have a video up in a few days walking through the full build in more detail.
The video you shot is very impressive. I would like to have some cooperation possibilities with you. I am from Naturnest Rooftop Tent. I am looking forward to your reply.
