I had to. Metal Gear Ladder Memes are just legendary. I also made it 480p because the original video was 480p.... Unfortunate things happen. Original Video: • KDLT-TV 1999ft tower b...
Everyone talking about fear of heights and shit, but bro, can you imagine just how tiring it must've been to climb this ladder and then go down? Legit hope the dude had a parachute
I'm seriously amazed how high that tower is. Like it seems like it goes way above the clouds, all the way to space. Mad respect for the one whoever was climbing that.
This is the most cinematic thing ive ever seen, the way he climbs this big ass metal tower very methodically and slowly alongside the music... The instrumentals not kicking in until the middle of the video was like the cherry on top. Nothing can beat this
Holy shit that top ladders doesnt provide any protection to hooks at all. Ih he falls, it will slide out of that tiny protrude. I wonder how much payment this guy would get for the job.
The average payout is 25k for every time they have to change the lightbulbs, so basically their yearly salary depends on how faulty the lightbulbs are. But the average yearly salary is around 50k USD, give or take.
@@bosniaforever you also have to consider that there are only so many people with a cojones to do this and then even fewer people who wanna get the certifications. So it might even be better than that.
I was totally telling myself: "yeah, I could do this". Then he attached himself to a bolt with absolutely nothing stopping the carabiner from just slipping off if he fell.
Imagine the guys going around the table at Friday night poker, shooting the shit about what they all accomplished that day, and this guy just chimes in "I climbed a ladder".
The best part is that even though OSHA says he could free climb this (which blows my mind) he is brave enough yo put himself out there on youtube using safety gear.
It's because the entire top part of the climb, which is why they don't just send a handyman, he's using those tiny pegs that his carabiner can't even properly grip to. It's effectively a free climb from that point on
@@wowsuchhandle parkour deals with evading people in the form of a martial art utilizing your body in athletic ways. You cannot tell any of us that this doesn’t require high endurance let alone balls to do since if he wanted to get away and had the time there is not one soul who would ever think to look for him right here dude, this man call call himself an honorary parkour artist because he’s literally gone miles higher than any of us by his own hands and feet, so please, stop hating and being grouchy
@@wowsuchhandle parkour deals with evasion as it’s focal point and this is the damn bravest thing besides deep sea diving that I’ve ever seen revolving around evasion
Me seeing him climb and reach the top of the orange section of the tower: NICE *Me seeing there’s still another red section of this pole he’s gotta climb: NOT NICE*
We built steel towers, sticking out of the clouds, like a needle, piercing the sky, to send signals to tiny moons of metal, powered in eternal flight by gravity and light, only so we could have a chat, anytime, anywhere.
@@Mr.M2045 It depends some guys get 60k others 100k difference is location. For example if you are a tower repairmen in Dubai where every building is tall then good or New Mexico where not so many tall anything not so good considering the danger lol. Just cause something is dangerous doesnt mean it pays well. I was thinking about doing it cause fear isn't at all a fear of mine but idk
Looks like the tip has a lip, looks like nothing, but I guess you’d basically have to be pulling it upwards to get it around that, if it’ll even fit around it.
I'm a professional skydiver. I used to be an Army paratrooper. I do not fear heights. This video was one of the most uncomfortable viewing experiences I think I've ever made myself sit through.
@blablabla Idk man, those pegs don't look safe at all so his harness doesn't have to fail to fall to his death. Also look down and that's all concrete and metal. Compared to grass and trees while sky diving and that's nearly guaranteed death right there.
was half expecting the "ding ding ding ding" of you climbing up the ladder lmao. Sidenote: This acapella version of the song was so brilliantly used and done. It told us that Snake was alone, he was far away from people who loved him (paramedic etc.) and he was a lone soldier. The whole ladder also allowed the developers to load the next scene seamlessly, without a loading screen. On the PS2 it was a very clever use and brillant game dev. That ladder scene is so well timed, that you transition from a jungle to a desert, and by the time Snake get's to the top, you can hear the wind howling(SFX get's louder) and the music fades and it's like "yeah you're alone Snake, but you got a mission to do"
As someone who has played metal gear since 2001 and does this for a living (not to these extreme heights but around 200 meter towers) I have not once thought of this lol
The ladder parts were bad enough, then he started climbing up the poles that the carabiners would just slip right off of and my anxiety wont let me watch further than that first step
Have you ever had this thought of not even wanting to go to high places because you're scared of losing it mentally for just a second? I wouldn't trust my psyche to not go nuts.
I'm genuinely intrigued: does he climb down the same way he came up? I would guess parachute or something like that is heavy as fuck so it would actually increase chance of falling down by fatigue.
Skydiving rigs really don't weigh that much, the problem would more be that the leg straps/harness of a chute would interfere with that of the climbing gear.
the ending is so fucking insane. The clips on the ladder would be quite effective, I'd imagine, if attached to a vest. But on those studs at the top? If you took a tumble they'd slide right off.
Some day, you climb , up a tower! Some day, you climb, past the clouds! It’s the thrill, the trial, to make the cliiimb! On the daaaaaaaaaay, you reach new heiiights!
