One of my favorite songs ever

Also, ABIII is my favorite album of theirs and this is the opening track that sets the absolute perfect tone for the whole album. The album is a loose concept album about someone going through a difficult time, so it has a lot of dark and moody songs (along with some uplifting ones as well). I think alot of this came from Myles' questions about faith and direction. Overall, I think this album is a masterpiece.

A lot of these Alter Bridge songs have Mark harmonizing with Myles. If you listen carefully, you can hear it as this is one of those songs.

Yep, such a s m o o t h song laced with venom. The vocal fangs go deep and the guitar coils around you, tightening with every note. Meaning of life - we are born, age, suffer and die.

This is a great opening track for the album and live shows. I had assumed that these lyrics were written by Myles since he is an agnostic. And I don't think this was easy for him since his stepfather, whom he loves, is a minister.

A truly great track! Myles Kennedy writes most of the lyrics - probably 80 percent or higher - except the first album was 90 percent Mark. He and Mark generally share 50% of the songwriting.
