noice, rockstar totally did think this would happen lol, they didn't think that it perhaps would be a good idea to clamp the number to a reasonable value...
honestly its my favorite part about the game tho, it makes the replayability go way way up when you can make the game a playground of discovery. I mean I'm still laughing so hard I cry at some of the things this game does when you skew physics and its been out for 15 years lmao
the dragmult just makes car accelerate forever once they pass a certain speed. you can def edit other numbers to make cars just drive better without becoming ballistic like I have for the car I'm driving in the video. Those edits are a bit more complicated
hey man i did this, and my traffic isnt moving fast its all going normal. i have the handling dat file in my gta iv location so idk whats going on. do i need to install the other things like simple native trainer or xliveless. i also have 2 fDragMult things in my handling file do i just put it on the first one or both?
modern loaders like to check your files and correct the handling file as it loads. maybe its reverting it back to default cuz u should only need to edit that specific integer. i dont have anything else installed here, only that number change.
I haven't actually found a way to prevent it, but the reset happens when the rockstar launcher starts up. What I did was have a copy of the handling file already edited and ready to drag n drop into the folder after the launcher loads up, then it will stay edited until the next time the launcher loads
