RU-vid shadowbanned the thermite video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gEohcdlSCpU.htmlsi=HzHch6Spy-ppPxIo All experiments were done in a controlled and safe environment for informational purposes only! Do not try this at home, if you ignore me at least look up the laws in your area and see what is okay for you to do. Explosive licenses or someone on standby with one to supervise is also a MUST! Don’t play with things that go boom, it’s just not a great idea.

@@JoshWallace-i3l Good question. At first, company in charge of shipment didn't want to file a report. Then said it most likely 'leaked' from belly dump railcar along the way. However, wouldn't they go check or ask subsequent train engineers to take a look along that route and report back? Nope. No follow-up reports, which is suspicious. I'm no rocket scientist, but I think there would be an obvious trail of prills having leaked 30 tons.

@johnnyd687 the FBI knows exactly who they're giving it to and likely helping assemble the explosives with their contact, you know, like they did with Timothy McVeigh back in 95. They were freaking the fuck out too because they knew exactly how much nitrate they gave McVeigh and realized the amount he used wasn't all of what they provided so they thought he had a seperate target. They immedately went to threatening Terry Nichols with the death penalty and all sorts of other shit if he didn't tell them where the rest ofnthebnitrate explosives were, and it turned out a county sheriff's deputy found the stockpile I forget where, but I do remember the reports of them finding the shit, the reporter said there were 4 sets of fingerprints on the explosives, onebwas McVeigh's one was nichols and the other two were "unidentifiable" meaning that at the time two current fbi informants or agents were helping them construct the explosives, McVeigh moved them after they were assembled. But if you Google reports of the live coverage that day they found additional explosives that failed to detonate strapped to the support pillars of the basement columns. They found i think it was three additional bombs if I remember right. And to my knowledge, McVeigh wasn't a magical wizard that could transport explosives into a basement that he didn't have access to, so there's only one way they could have got there. They were actual C-4 though...i know what you're thinking why would the FBI help McVeigh? Well, during the Clinton administration the government had an extremely unpopular piece of anti-terrorism legislation thay they wanted to pass but the voters opposed it heavily, until April 19th 1995 a FBI building was bombed, then it passed just a couple days after. It was a massive expansion for the deep state to "prevent more terror attacks from home-grown domestic extremists"

Explosives aren't actually illegal for personal (i.e. non-commercial) usage on your own private property. You could mix up a literal ton of ANFO. The illegality comes from a few points: 1. You can't transport it; even Tannerite can't be legally transported once mixed. This is actually courtesy of the DOT, not BATFE. 2. You can't create a "destructive device." That means no throwing in a bucket of ball bearings or other parts from the hardware store. Ironically a glass bottle of flammable liquid with a rag stuffed in the top fails this legal test, but a frangible plastic container of Ammonal (i.e. Tannerite, AN-Al) passes. 3. There are various fire codes across the country regulating storage of such goods and their proximity to occupied dwellings. The actual reason you can't hop on the 'zon and buy this stuff comes down to point number one. Tannerite is legal to ship because it's a binary explosive, two compounds mixed to create an explosive, and neither compound on its own is hazardous enough to preclude shipping. It's also a secondary explosive, that means it's hard to set off. To set off a secondary explosive, you need a high energy impulse. That energy could come from a rifle bullet, as in Tannerite, or a blasting cap. Blasting caps don't come in binary form and manufacture or handling of primary explosives is very much something you don't want to do if you value being able to count to ten or even see your hands to count how many fingers you have. The whole premise of blasting caps is to make inherently unsafe material as safe as reasonably possible by protecting it in a casing and minimizing the amount of sensitive material.

I’m no lawyer, but I’m pretty sure it’s legal to make a destructive device without registering it as long as it’s destroyed that same day. Heard that on Ordnance Lab.
@dwaynesykes694
@dwaynesykes694 6 месяцев назад
@@spingebill8551 if you have a FFL, specifically a Type 10, then I think you can avoid some paperwork by ensuring any manufactured devices aren't kept in inventory for more than a day. I recall hearing that on Ordnance Lab. If you don't have an FFL/FEL, then you need to submit an ATF Form 1 and wait for approval BEFORE manufacturing the device. You'll also need to pay 200 to have 'em slap what must be one of the most expensive stamps in the world on that Form 1. As far as the ATF is concerned, there's no difference between a Molotov cocktail and a machine gun, they're both prohibited by the NFA. You can't make a machine gun without the proper licensing, and you can't make a destructive device without the proper license OR approved Form 1. Again worth noting that explosive does not equal destructive device. A literal ton of ANFO? Not a destructive device. A Molotov cocktail? Destructive device. Put that ton of ANFO in something _designed or intended to_ produce shrapnel? Now it's a destructive device.

When I was in the Army, I was told that a Tide and diesel fuel mix will burn like napalm. I don’t know why they said Tide. Maybe that’s what the Army used at the time? They said they put it in barrels and put C4 on the bottom of the barrels and waited for tanks to roll by or get pinned in a tank trap, then the C4 would blow the mixer, igniting it all over the tank. Once the tank got hot, they would wait for the soldiers to jump out and shoot them. I got the since the mixer was a bit gooey and would stick pretty well.

@DeskPop the active ingredient in the stump remover is potassium nitrate. I buy it in bulk for work and it's significantly cheaper that way. The local grain elevators sell bulk sulfur. The grocery sells powdered sugar. Mix the 3 together and you have what's referred to in the hobbyist community as "rocket candy". It works significantly better if you heat it until everything melts and pour it into the container of your choice, where it will harden. DO NOT melt the mixture inside, it is extremely flammable and can easily start a house fire. I don't know if it will explode in a sealed container but it works really well for model rockets or very quickly lighting your bonfire.

If this mixture worked it would most likely need a blasting cap (not a firecracker, they aren’t nearly strong enough), similar mixtures like ANFO need a strong blasting cap and a hefty booster in order detonate properly. So if you have the time, try to mix up something like SADS or a similar primary explosive (Do some research before you make blasting caps, lots of primary explosives are really sensitive or produce a poisonous smoke), make sure you also have a explosives manufacturing license so you don’t get into any legal trouble (if you’re in the USA).

I think the diesel/flour thing in most cases is set up as a fuel/air explosive. Diesel on fire in the top of a bag of flour, and then shot with a high powered rifle. You're talking about a dust bomb. We used to make them in the army with coffee creamer and TNT blocks. It's not that flower or coffee creamer is flammable per say, it's the size of the particulate. This is why grain silos blow up. The coffee creamer TNT bomb works great in empty warehouses. It will also work outside if there's no wind. If no TNT is available black powder will work also. Anything that will detonate and produce a spark or flame will work. This information is for purely educational reasons only. Do not try this at home.

In my experience, I've only ever had trouble with off brand tannerite, not exploding. In my opinion, the reason the off brand stuff has trouble is because they don't give you a separate clear and larger container to mix both ingredients in. They want you to do it in the same small jar you shoot. The ingredients barely have the room they need to mix them thoroughly. Also, the container is orange, so you can't see how well mixed it is. So, when you open the lid to look, the mixures completeness can be deceiving because of this. Now, whenever I use the off brand stuff, I use a leftover tannerite brand mixing jar to mix it. It seems to work fine now.

Some info I got from a US Army manual: don't boil bleach to concentrate it in a well ventilated area (outside, with a respirator and goggles) and mix in stump remover. Then don't crystalize that and mix that with Vaseline because that would make a stable plastic explosive Also, don't use a tuna can full of that, topped with aluminum powder under a 5lb bag of flour or half gallon of gasoline. If this is detonated in a poorly ventilated basement, it's enough to demolish a 2,000 square foot building. The flour or gasoline will basically burn off all the oxygen once dispursed and ignited by the aluminum. This turns all the air into an explosive. For educational purposes you can make sugar rockets and smoke bombs using stump remover. The sugar rocket fuel mixture can be absorbed in a cotton string to make a time delay fuse. But only for educational sugar rockets and maybe smoke bombs for paintball or airsoft games. Iron oxide can make a more powerful rocket fuel when added. You can find tons of perfectly legal videos on this.

They drilled there hole into the ground filled it with ammonium nitrate than took a fuel truck up there and began filling it up with diesel once finished they proceeded to put a blasting cap on top of the mixture once finished with all there holes they cleared the area, and charged the blasting caps once those caps went off I guess a chain reap took place which then ignited the diesel and ammonium nitrate and what you got was real dynamite 🧨…💥💥💥💥

I make videos on making fertilizer .. for gardening. If you want to make an explosion with diesel and flour, you would need some additional ingredients: (18+ and/or with adult supervision!) 1) an unused outbuilding 2) a diesel powered leaf blower (so as to have an excuse to use the diesel) 3) a means of remote ignition. You won't want to have an open flame anywhere near the work area, so don't use a fuse. Use your imagination. Use the leaf blower to blow your flour up into an empty enclosed space so that the particles are suspended in the air, get to a safe distance (no, farther than that. NO. FARTHER.) heat and flames from an engine might cause a premature detonation, use leaf blower at own risk .. and ignite. What you would experience at this moment is called a 'fuel-air' explosion, and is one of the more common movie effects - although it is typically done with an aerosolized liquid accelerant, not flour - flour was just what used to blow up grain silos and mills (and still does from time to time). Fuel-air bombs are made to create the LARGEST explosions short of nuclear ordinance. Dry coffee creamer also makes an impressive fireball when aerosolized and ignited. A word of caution: Fuel-air bombs are usually more potent than the manufacturer anticipates. Instead of trying to make something go 'BOOM', just sprinkle a bit of flour or creamer over an open flame, and you may satisfy your curiosity much more safely. Have a fire extinguisher handy, in case you turn out to be a clutz. Seriously, do this before doing anything with a leaf blower .. you'll see why 😁 Have fun, and keep your hair!
@ShannonDove-sy7ye

Yea they have certain advantages, mainly that air is free and the fuels are cheap. But compared to other explosives they are very weak, especially on a volume to volume comparison. It takes roughly 4 thousand gallons of air to burn a single gallon of gasoline or diesel. It's good for a large open area, but not much else. Not good for shattering rock and concrete, not good for cutting steel either. Makes an ok propellant such as a "potato cannon", or pushing pistons in an engine.

Yes, do thermite! It's so much fun! Also, you can make thermite with _sand_ as the oxidizer. Sand is silicon dioxide, so with enough heat you can make thermite with aluminum powder and finely powdered sand. To powder the sand I used a rock tumbler with glass marbles as a ball mill and ran it till the sand was an extremely find powder. The thermite you make with this will be harder to ignite than standard iron oxide thermite, and it has a hard time sustaining the reaction. I had to reignite it several times. It might help if you can put it in an insulating refractory container, to minimize heat loss. I used magnesium ribbon to light it, and I think I also used some magnesium powder or maybe shavings from one of those magnesium block fire starters. (I did this around a decade ago.) Anyhow, for the kind of things thermite is normally useful for, this sand thermite isn't great. What it _is_ good for is making elemental silicon, though unless you can get it to burn _really_ well, it won't be very pure and will contain particles of sand and aluminum. _That said,_ I think I have a solution. Magnesium is more reactive than aluminum and burns hotter. It's probably possible to make a sand based thermite that will burn really well by replacing some or all of the aluminum with magnesium powder. That said, magnesium powder is likely very dangerous, because is so reactive and burns so hot, so I'm not sure exactly how dangerous this is, but it might be very dangerous.

Powdered non dairy creamer lightly dumped over a flame is very volitile. I used it on stage when my band would play an open venue. A large candle cut down to expose a large flame was set on front stage. At the perfect moment the lead guitarist would grab a handful of powdered creamer and throw it at the flame making a huge fireball. Safety was always used in any pyrotech show.

I watched the whole thing. One question. How long do you bake it and at what temperature? OK, that was two questions.😮 One more question. I tried something very similar with ANFO, but my house is still being rebuilt. Is this better? Thanks.

Just so everyone knows .. the real recipe calls for stump remover (ammonium nitrate), diesel fuel also known as fuel oil, aluminum powder and magnesium powder. This creates an EXTREMELY dangerous mixture known as AnFo, short for ammonium nitrate fuel oil. I suggest people become more familiar with redux and oxidation reactions before attempting anything foammable or explosive.
@mikerochen8709
@mikerochen8709 7 месяцев назад
Percentages are important --- four and a half percent of FO of the total AN will provide a potent but stable explosive in which a booster and confinement is needed to provide detonation. The 1947 explosion in Galveston Texas on a cargo Ship (grandcamp) carrying 2300 tons of ammonium nitrate caught fire and resulted in over 500 people killed along with only one survivor of the volunteer fire company fighting the fire.. Flour, if nitrated in the proper manner (nitro starch) is deemed an explosive. TNT (tri-nitro-toluline) is another example of supposedly inert substances that when nitrated, is potent.

Just a tip: Stump remover is potassium nitrate. It is used to make gun powder (black powder).

NEVER use balls or any sort of loose, potential shrapnel with explosives. There’s zero benefit and just a long list of risks: Lose an eye? Lose your life? Damage your expensive property? Hurt someone else or their property, thereby simultaneously ruining your own life? (i.e. jail, fines, decades of guilt/remorse when you inevitably mature in a few short years and realize that life is beautiful, everyone is going through their own challenges, the biggest joys in life come from helping others, while the greatest unhappiness comes from negatively impacting others).

A signal rocket to trigger avalanches in a thick metal tube makes for a nice flashbang too. Could add some additional ball bearings to make sure it works properly. Not saying it will make you V8 run faster :)

This is an idea for blasting boulders. While digging for gold. Or removing tree stumps or dynamite fishing. Never tried any of them yet. My little brother use to use co2 catridges and filled with gun powder and ran a gun powder fuse as l Kids in the sand box. Of course it was always kid supervised as adults. Also thermite works too!as a diesel mechanic/ industrial maitenance mechanic, gold digger, and government employee. Everyone loves some safe fun as long as its not guns. I really hate guns. But i do like rail guns, and sonic weapons.

Add potassium nitrate to the mix, for example the flour and diesel mix is 3.5oz you're gonna add about 2.5-2.6oz of potassium nitrate, it's about 75% of the flour and diesel mix

My Vietnam vet demolitions cousin said they took 50 gallon drums cut in half, filled them with diesel and took a potato peeler to a bar of soap and shaved it into the diesel. When it got thick they then somehow placed a hand grenade inside and a trip wire and when it went off it made a sticky napalm substance that stuck onto the enemy.
