Wow, you really live my dream life. 😄 I'm currently learning Korean with a tutor who lives in Korea. I hope one day I can visit Korea and have conversations with natives.
Language tests are: 1. Klp or klec 2. At snu: lei Korea (English) Yonsei Korean language TOPIK is for a Program like PhD Q. Are there Any of area specific Entrance Exam or such as Mathematics test (integrals differentials) for Master's & PhD's, or is there any specific level exam ?
Very informative video. Regarding teaching in Korea, almost all people who come to Korea to teach english are not trained teachers. They were only hired because they can speak english fluently. If you ever go to Itaewon where all the internationals go (including the ones that teach which is most) you can see they aren't the best and the brightest at what they do and would not get anywhere close to a teaching job in their home country.
Hi Helen! Thank you for this video. If you don’t mind, I just need a clarification for this program. 1. How long is the programme? How many semesters? 2. When you said you submitted the application a day before the deadline, when is usually the deadline? Is it end of 2020 or early 2021? Thank you so much! Love your videos💕
Each level lasts 10 weeks (200 hours) and there are four quarters each year (fall, spring, summer, winter). The winter 21/22 is already closed. If you want to apply for the next available quarter (spring 2022) the deadline is December 27th 2021 and the classes start March 7- May 13. They operate all levels each quarter so you can start whenever you like. Each year you can complete 4 levels so from 1-6 it will take you a year and half.
Hi Helen I decided to apply korean language program but I'm still a little scared and during this process I hope i hope that I will be able to get visa 🙏 but not my hand
Wow lovely video I just came across your channel ☺️ Please can you do a video on the statement of purpose or just things to apply in the statement of purpose as a prospective applicant
Thanks Helen! I’m planning on applying after I graduate from college next year and I was wondering how you find housing that’s not the dorms. Good luck with the rest!
the best video ever thank you so much may I ask you about the steps we need to go through in these days of covid 19 and how to prepare for quarantine and so on including booking for self-quarantine and how to do it and is it before or after u reserve ur acceptance letter from snu please I need someone to help me with this cuz I have no idea and thank u so much for all these pieces of information
Hi Helen, thank you for the informative video :) I wonder if there's any age limits for the language program. Also, is the personal statement an important/deciding factor in the success of our application for a language course, just as it is in degree courses in universities? Thanks in advance for your help! :)
@Icezy Bunti, thankyou ✨😇 An other one, the D-4 visa on google says it's only valid till 6 months in korea and it can be extended.... Like,do we have to go back to our country to extend the visa for next sessions or how is it?
Hi. Did you experience living in school dorms? I'm just really worried because I plan on studying korean language program next year (still not sure what school) and I'm going alone. If I apply for dorms, would I be paired with a co-language program student? Or is it all mixed? I'm just worried I won't make friends of the same program. Especially if you're a languge student, you need to practice speaking a lot. If I would have an undergrad roommate, it would be disrespectful to disturb them sometimes. And another question, since it's all online classes still, was it hard to make friends? Based on your experience or observation from other's experience (since you might had friends who went there with you). Do you all get together outside of class to meet and get to know each other?
Loved your video, it was super informative. Planning on applying for summer 2022! How did you find out that you didn't need the notarization/apostille?
thanks! i believe it used to say somewhere on the website that since im american and went to a college in the US i didn’t need motivation (they might have changed the policy though since i applied a year ago)
@@kl7342 So exciting!! So I emailed SNU and they did say that the apostille is necessary in order to apply. Although I am having a tough time obtaining it...
@@samarabear oh yeah, it’s difficult for me too. I would need to get it notarized then send it to the apostille office since they r closed due to COVID. Good luck!
I politely want to ask two questions please. (1) Do we need to submit parents' income statement and business license in etc file? (2) Resume or curriculum vitae form is '' Template Form '' or '' paragraph form of essay type?
Hi I would like to apply for spring 2023 and I want to know how much should I have to spend in food and housing because I almost sure it’s not included in the tuition, hope you can help me
Hello, 😇😇 thanks this video was so helpful for all the application process and all. Thankyou!! I'm applying for fall session 2022 and winter 2022 I wanted to know how many sessions can we take using D-4 visa?what visa do we take if we are sure we will continue to take the next sessions as well?
Hii Helen! I’d like to know, are there any placement tests beforehand to choose the level we’ll study in or do we have to start from beginners level when we enroll the course? thanks!
thank you for this video ❤ and is it acceptable after the korean language courses I mean after having a certificate of language can u apply for bachelor or master ?
hello! first of all I really enjoyed you video very much, i was wondering the transcripts you sent, was it all your highschool grades ? or how does it work? Thank you
I don't have any personal experience but from what I found out through research is that you are probably not allowed to keep a full time job on your student visa at least at first I think
Hi thank you for the video! I am thinking of applying for SNU for the Fall semester this year (: I want to do 2 semesters atleast, maybe 4.... would it be easier to apply for 4 at the start? (visa/payment wise?).
Omg hi, I stumbled on this video because I got in for summer session and was going through more videos just incase💗 I wanna do all 4 sessions but you can only pay max upto two sessions in the beginning which takes upto 6 months and hence we have to opt for D4 visa, we can extend everything afterwards while attending the last classes there in korea
So basically you can only apply for the first 2 sessions not 4, and then obtain D4 visa. Hope this helps hehe💗 I also subbed to you incase we see each other there someday 😭✨ all the best on the application 💗
@@ShwetaSalian Omg hi ^^ Yeah!!! I applied for the Fall semester and I will hear back from them July 11th! So I think I can then pay tuition for Fall and Winter semester together then 💗 and when I'm in Korea I guess I can extend if I want to
I’m applying for 2023 winter or 2024 spring semesters, and there’s a bank balance of 10k requirement. I heard most students go through brokers, is there more info on how to do that through them?
Hiii helen! I hope you are doing well! Well thanks a lot for your video! I gotta a question please is : do i need to provide English Proficiency test? Thanks a lot
SNU language institute selects its student so yeah I think so. Had to make a motivation letter give my last grades and my resume and my diploma all translated with an apostille
Hey I have to ask you something.. So basically I'm thinking to apply to Snu and do the english education course then take the bachelors degree and become a teacher there.. And live there. What do you think.. I'm studying korean rn and I still have 3 years to finish high school.
Hi! I was wondering if its hard to get into their program? Ive already applied for Spring of 2023 but im worried I might be rejected. Would there be a specific reason why they would reject someone or are they pretty lenient?
Hello I'm plannig to change my language school and is it possible? I asked about immigration they said' you go back to your country and apply new school and get visa all over again' But I'm afraid that my visa won't be allowed 😢 Do u know about my case if u know help me pls🙏
I'm applying for Spring 2022 and at some point I am scared that I'll got rejected but after listening to your answer for the competitive program question....that really make sense.... 🥲 I'm less scared now. 🙃 Thank you anyway nice video!! ❤️❤️❤️
😎Good video. I am from US, traveling around the world now. Could we do notarization of our degree in any Korean consulate around the world? Did you have to do notarization or apostile your degree certificate?
Hey Helen. I was just wondering. Were you able to make money on RU-vid the first 6 months you were there? You described you could only get part-time jobs after you had stayed in Korea for 6 months.
Hey can I ask if i apply for spring sem and after completing 10 weeks do I have to leave and cannot do further language course? Like it's for four different sems around whole year so can I stay there for all four sem and do my language training?
I'll be 17 year old after graduating high school in june but you must apply for universities and scholarships in march which means I will waste a whole year to apply missing so many other opportunities and I was wondering if I could apply before my graduation or something
Do I have to apply/ enroll every semester or can it be done at once for all the levels I want to take? I want to apply for masters so I’m wondering how the process will be for that considering visa, and everything. The process after completing my language course for visa and all
@@lilybrown5357 for master's We need 20000usd for show? And can we pay our tuition fees and living expenses doing part time there after language course?
Hi, I just saw your comment and I’m facing the same problem with the payment, it does not allow me to complete the application fee payment :( may I ask how did you manage to pay? And what kind of solutions did they give you? I contacted SNU LEI office through email but still got no response
@@cream_cheese007 hiii I am sorry, when you do the payment select the wire money or transfer instead of credit/debit card. And I will open another window with all the information you need to provide to your bank to transfer the money to snu. Hope this helps
