I'm surprised he's still mentally stable after traveling to every state for gamestops, playing 3d mario and mario kart for a week, 2d mario for 2 weeks, and collecting every N64 game
I think Mini Mario & Friends Amiibo Challenge will go down in history as the MOST obscure officially released Mario game. And the fact that it's on a home console is even crazier
I really miss the era of Super Mario Maker 1 of using the Amiibos in order to unlock all of the Mystery Mushrooms, whether it's: Mr. Pikman; Mario driving a car; Jigglypuff etc.., the one feature I've missed dearly from Super Mario Maker 2! Great upload as always Nathaniel! ❤
Small details: - The Splatoon amiibo stages are the same as the main campaign, except that you play them with a different weapon, that's all. - In Super Mario Maker, there's a limit to how many amiibo costumes you can unlock in 100-Mario, so i feel like using some of the amiibo figures first is a good call as i haven't been able to unlock every costume yet and i reached the limit in every difficulty except super expert and i unlocked some costumes i could've unlocked with amiibo earlier. Lastly, i haven't checked this one, but you apparently can play online with amiibo in Mario Tennis, something you can't do in Sm4sh, sad that the online is going away yet i was never able to play Mario Tennis online lol, while Wii Sports Club i have been able quite a few times. Edit: I love the idea of amiibo, its a way to connect different games and different systems, with all the services down on Wii U and 3DS, it feels cool that there's an official way of still giving some new content to old games via amiibo, i just wish they had some better ways of doing so, like the Word Search game (also apparently some of the new amiibo figures don't work on Wii U or 3DS).
im prettry sure specific costumes are linked to specific difficulties (as in you can only get them from clearing their designated difficulty or higher), theres also a lot that dont come from the 100 mario challenge
Although I’ve never gotten an Amibo, the Wii U games are especially cool! Very sad it is discontinued and the services are shutting down here soon! Cool vid and huge like!
From what I remember, I’d argue Yoshi’s Woolly World probably has one of the best amiibo usages. Even after release I remember using amiibo that didn’t have costumes and tried scanning them in; lots of great memories with that game.
For the TPHD Ganon amiibo. Difficulty isn't necessarily locked behind the amiibo since hero mode has the same effect. Tho if you tap the amiibo in hero mode you will actually take 4x the damage
6:34 you don't have to scan the Amiibo every time you want to roll the dice (in mario party 10) you can also just push the A button on the GamePad instead. just saying
You know....amiibo and 3DS/WII U games go together much better than amiibo and switch games. At least...that's my opinion. (Also i got some suggestions for future videos.) Ranking every captain toad stage. Ranking every mario maker amiibo costume. And ranking every yoshi's wooly world costume. Just wanted to mention these ideas of mine because the games were mentioned in the video.
I used a Amiibo in Hyrule Warriors so I can use the Spinner. I wish the clay Kirby game had better controls. I got a Zelda Amiibo card pack just to make use of the Amiibo features. It also helped me make money in Tears of the Kingdom.
Nathaniel: *plays Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival’s music* Me: omg I love Amiibo Festival! It’s so nostalgic! Nathaniel: “This is by far one of the worst Nintendo games ever made”
Skylanders: Dead Disney Infinity: Dead Telepods: Dead LEGO Dimensions: Dead Amiibo: "Alive" (But honestly, they might be dying since a lot Switch games from nowadays have little to no Amiibo support)
I miss Skylander I played from Giants to imaginations, I played Spyro’s adventure at my friends house. I feel like ever since Activision abandoned the franchise in 2019 they’ve become a hated video game company
a thing that really sucked about the splatoon amiibos was that in europe every single version of a certain splatoon amiibo were stolen, and nintendo were like "waaaa! we're not releasing them now!" which means europe lost access to features in a game for something that wasn't their fault at all.
Nowadays, Amiibos have been left completely neglected by Nintendo, and it's also quite crazy to think how there were more of them sold than the total hardware sales of the Wii U, further exemplifying the poor marketing of the system!
I wouldn't say they've been completely neglected considering they're still being made. Also "they sold more amiibo than consoles" is a weird argument when most people probably bought multiple figures.
Because toys to life are dead and they really give no benefit to Nintendo since they don’t sell that well. They just release some new amiibo once in a while now. Also OF COURSE they sold better than the Wii U. They’re cheaper and people buy a bunch of them. I’m betting most of those sales are from the Amiibo crisis, when everyone was hoarding all the rare figures
Yoshi's Woolly World is such an underrated game with so much amazing stuff. They need to port it to either the switch or switch 2 for more people to experience
We gotta hurry up because we only have 2 months left to get more Amiibo costumes in Mario Maker! Some of the Amiibo costumes might be locked behind the 100 Mario Challenge, which will no longer be accessible in April!
7:44 I used to play this game all the time back in like... 2015 I think?? And I was a kid who only had the Sonic amiibo at the time so I could only play as the default character who can't play any special levels or go through special routes so every time I got a new amiibo I was so ecstatic to try the new challenge levels they took me forever cuz I was bad at solving puzzles so I got a lot of content out of it. Heard the theme for like 2 seconds and was immediately hit with a wave of nostalgia
Nice i also grew up with wii u. And yeah i also had this game and i had animail crossing amibo's form amibo festival but bruh i dint even tried to use it in this game couse i throught it was only possible with mario amibos. Ah nastolga.
It's worth noting that for the Star Fox Zero amiibo, you can unlock the Black Arwing if you 100% the game, but I'm not certain if you can unlock the SNES Arwing, unless I just forgot.
Hah. Nice vid. You brought back bad memories of Amiibo Festival. Glad to see some amiibo content still out there. I’m a big fan of them. So much that my initial run of diorama nooks gives reverence to them. Hope more get released. It it doesn’t seem very likely…
I have a sonic amiibo. The only game i found use in was smash Ultimate. I thought I was going to try it with other games. Turns out most of the games I own don't support amiibo.
1:05 I got amiibo fest on clearance just for Isabelle and her brother but I’ve been collecting the animal crossing cards so I could try this game and I’m glad that the other animal crossing games has amiibo usage too 😂 but its one of the same reason why I collected Pokemon cards tho
I really wished that the Wii U got a true Animal Crossing game and if it did, so many casual gamers might have bought a Wii U for Animal Crossing alone. Just look at how big Animal Crossing new Horizons on the Switch was to casual gamers.
There are also other Toys to Life figurines like Amiibos, which are ones for "Disney Infinity", "Lego Dimensions", and "Skylanders", which are one of the games we don’t see you talk about on your channel, you REALLY need to check those games out, they are really awesome games, Skylanders have really awesome characters, I really hope you see this comment.
when you do your 100% video game marathons the 4 you should do is every kirby game for the first one every yoshi game for the second one every paper mario game for the third one and every zelda game for the fourth one
I kinda wish Nintendo would bring back the amiibos , sure there being used in smash brothers ultimate , but I wish they returned in Mario maker 2, and animal crossing new horizons.
So weird more 3ds games use amiibo than wii U since amiibo felt like they were made for the Wii U while using them on 3DS felt more of an after thought.
