I also think that artefact is part of a shield, would like to see it cleaned up Cleggy, great find, also i did exactly the same with that programme 'finders keepers', watched the first episode and didnt bother with the rest, i thought the acting was shocking and i did not like the story line, as you said it makes all metal detectorist look like potential criminals, 'The Detectorists' series was a far better reflection of the detecting community, glad you are on the mend anyway hun and thanks for sharing 😀

That artifact you found might be of the front of a Saxon shield.🛡

I've looked on the Finds databace and there is a thing called a shield-boss apex mount 6th Centary

Hi Cleggy, this is my first comment to any of your finds. With regard to the first stamped handle, although difficult to see,is the lowest mark not the MOD arrow ? Possibly indicating a piece of officers mess silver ? I watch all your u tube episodes I find them very entertaining, a thumbs up from me

Hi Cleggy good show you are on to it and you are still finding Lill treasures. The fields and the area you are are not the best as you don't find good Roman, Celtic or Anglo sacksen never the less you are in good spirit. ❤❤❤

I had a good laugh, and thought you cheeky bugger, then realised i hadn't yet given you the thumbs up, so your cunning plan worked! Im glad you've stuck with the CTX3030. Its always worked well for me, Although i went for several day thinking something was wrong with it, all the ferrous numbers were in the 30s and it was going off where ever i swung, it pays to wear my glasses when looking at the screen, when i did, i was wondering what happened to all the shaded parts, then the penny dropped. Enjoyed this hunt Cleggy, Thanks Mate, Cheers!

lve got a 109 dollar detector and l dig the aluminium too.....aluminum..the bane of EVERY metal dectector .. l just dont get signals as deep as you do here in the USA...
