It's always rough when you gotta retire a good Toybiz one that's been with you for years and years. There's plenty that're still so good I probably won't ever replace them (Beast, bald variant Bishop, Mr. Sinister, Magneto, Venom to name a few), but this new Angel is such an improvement in almost every way, I just had to.

Its hard to believe that at one time we ALL thought that those ToyBiz figures were the BEST ...& i agree... the damn FINGER articulation was WACK A F!😂 I had a ToyBiz Hulk & it would NOT make FIST! WTF is a Hulk without a FIST! As far as toe articulation..its good for Spider Man.. Deadpool & Daredevil figures.. & IMO the Renew Your Vows versions are perfect.

I 100% agree. The Renew your Vows mold is the best one for Spider-Man. At least for the ones that I personally have. When those older figures came out they were good for their time I guess. Time has deff caught up though and I'm glad they fixed those hands when they moved forward! Thank you for taking the time time to comment!

Snagged the very last one at my local indie toy haunt. Had to pay a little more than MSRP but worth it! Also found Goblin Queen, Scarlet Spider and Tombstone.

That was deff worth it. I would have snatched it too. Although he's not like.... the greatest character..... he can really make a display pop. Plus you found 3 from the spider man wave. I still have to open my Tombstone.

When it comes to my pursuit of figures and how to spend my money, top tier is preorder and be willing to pay shipping, pay full price if I see it. The final 2 are first clearance, and id grab it in a toy bin or deep clearance! 🤷 Everybody has different figures they prioritize!!

Oh definitely, there are figures I wouldn't touch for retail but I would on clearance. I know exactly what you mean, we have to have our priorities in order to do this right.

@@ClevasMultiverse they just did it lol. Toybiz did that a lot. A lot of their Marvel Legends faces are based on real people. The most popular one was David Vonner using himself as War Machine. Other ones too that I remember Phoenix's face was based on Actress Faye Dunaway. Juggernaut was based on the guy who played the father on the original Wonder Years I forget his name. There were others but I can't remember.

Very true. He did also come out at a time when beast didn't have fur. He's really old school. I think he was the only one that could fly back in those days (From the original X-Men) Archangel is a lot better to me, at least he has a healing factor and razor wings.

I do like this figure, but like most Hasbro figures they lack proper paint wash and paint details as well as other sculpted details. Toybiz did a much better job at that. The blue toybiz figure was great as far as the wings go, but Hasbro has them beat on the figure itself. Toybiz also had their dated articulation and sculpt, which was nice at the time, but Hasbro has truly ecplised them in that category. I just wish Hasbro would put a lot more emphasis on the details and paint wash. You made a great point about the comparison with the wings from the old figure to the new. All in all, it looks like another winner that I would purchase. Price point is 5 bucks too high imo. They need to stop overpricing figures or they will find tons and tons of their figures on the shelves at Ollie's and Bargain Barn (or whatever it's called). Thanks for the great review, friend. Thank you for the feedback. You're so right about those points. I think that he should have been maybe 29.99 also. He doesn't have any accessories other than the wings and they should have had more detailing.... like the Toy Biz version. Also, Toy Biz figures used to to have bigger B.A.F.'s and some figures like Ghost Rider even came with the Motorcycle at no extra. I will give Hasbro a thumbs up because this year I like what they have been doing with the paint. I think they are starting to step it up. What they need to do is stop wasting money on figures that nobody wants and just focus on the ones that people are asking for. That would stop a lot of useless figures from winding up in Ollie's and Ross.
