I had the opportunity to have a lustrous carbonado gem in my hands and I did a hardness test, which scratches which, with glass and after the carbonado scratched the glass and vice versa, the glass has also scratched the carbonado. I understood how carbonado is highly impure (hematite and amorphous carbon and invisible ports) and hardness depends on purity. My conclusion: A polished gem does not have a hardness of 10 on the moh scale. I would like to discuss about this issue of carbonado by giving me some explanation. thank you
