Chongqing is famous as a mountain city with more than 90% of its area being hills and mountains. Even the city center area is surrounded by majestic mountains. To gain space to live and develop here, countless "impossible" architectural works appear like solid "fortresses" stacked on top of each other.
In 2018, images of construction scaffolding clinging to steep cliffs on the banks of the Wujiang River in Vu Long district, Chongqing attracted the attention of the online community. Everyone competes to make predictions about the purpose of the project: building a hotel hanging on a cliff, building an observatory, or even "tiling" the mountain.
