sorry to be offtopic but does anyone know a tool to get back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my login password. I love any assistance you can give me!
@Davian Brayan thanks so much for your reply. I found the site on google and Im in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I will have to watch this a few more times, to get a solid grasp of the chemical compounds involved. This is exactly the information I was hoping for! There is so much to learn! Thank you for guiding and teaching us!
I just finished my organic chem course over the summer (now I’m onto physiology bc I’m studying Physical Therapy) but I LOVED organic chem. It’s so useful for literally everything having to do with your body. Be that what you’re eating, putting on your skin, or even how your body works! Highly recommend it to anyone wanting to understand any type of ingredient list 😊❤️
i love diffusing essential oil blends in my house as a alternate to burning candles. i always worry about my animals though and how it effects them. they’ve never acted different and never have noticed any symptoms but think a video on essential oil safety around pets would be welcomed :)
you really turn someone with interest what so ever in chemistry - biology etc into someone that actually love that and legitimately interest me a lot, thanks
I would love to see you make a video about Curology! They have you take a quiz about what’s your skin like on their website and then formulate the products for you based on that test. I believe the products then have an ingredient list with the exact percentages on it
This is crazy because I’ve been going through so many essential oil shops out of interest in this past month but never had the chance to buy anything because i didnt know enough about them. Thanks!! ❤️
Very interesting, I understood roughly 70% of this video ....it’s definitely a LOT to take in and I must say your little brain is a VERY smart one 🧠 thank you Kenna great video #sciencebabes at its best. 💕🌺💕
I really enjoy what you're trying to do here. I think the best way to bring this knowledge to the main stream audience would be to give examples of each as you say them so what layman termed essential oil would be considered alkenes for example. But again I really enjoy hearing the science behind it but find it hard to implement it into my basic knowledge of essential oils
Thank you for making the chemistry of essential oils digestible! Also so cool to see somebody discussing essential oils on RU-vid from a scientific approach. Most of the videos I've seen on RU-vid are from MLM marketers or people who try to "debunk" essential oils and their therapeutic benefits, most likely due to the MLM marketers.
I’m allergic to essential oils so am interested in learning more. I appreciate that you explain things well for the lay person. Looking forward to the rest of the series!
Love the new background and set up. This video is very timely for me because I just ordered an essential oil starter kit(aromatherapy) More power to you Kenna. 🥰
me learning pharmacognosy and phytochemistry found this really helpful, I legit forgot everything i learned last semester LOL thanks kenna for helping me remember!
Hi Kenna!! Thank you for taking the time to educate us 💓 if possible can you please do a video about Cbd.. cannabis strains and terpenes found it the different strains please
Wow... I am an accountant but have always been interested in essential oils and (obviously) want to understand what they are made up of and how it all works. I think my mind is a bit broken at the moment but thank you! I will keep at it!
Good vid! I'd find it interesting to hear more about the application of some of these.. compounds(?) For sure would be interested to hear more about their misapplication in skincare.. I know you've talked about it generally.. Perhaps an exact products breakdown?
Loved this video! I used to be a medical student and I wish I had a teacher like you... :)) Keep up the good work! And thank you so much for the amazing content!
So interesting although I am not well versed in science so I don’t understand everything. I’m so happy you’re making this series, I got interested in finding out what’s the deal with EO recently after a family member got into it and was told to put some EO in her water and ingest in vegetable capsules by her DoTerra salesperson (wellness consultant is not a term I like, haha). I’m one to think this is absolutely not safe and she was adamant that Health Canada had approved them for oral use. I sent her a link to Health Canada showing her that’s not the case at all, but she still does it anyway because DoTerra tells her it’s safe and the EO are natural. 🤦♀️ All that to say I hope the topic of ingestion will be part of your series
*perks up in Anti-MLM* (But seriously, this is interesting for anyone who constantly gets MLM huns trying to shill essential oils unhealthily, like sticking it anywhere it isn't wanted or necessary. Like Oregano oil in food. 🤢 )
Hey Kenna! Love your channel. I’ve really enjoyed your content it’s helped me a lot. I was wondering if you could do a video on the “right way” or healthy ways to exfoliate the skin without tearing or damaging it! Keep up the amazing content it’s greatly appreciated. Have a great day! X
I would LOVE it if you were to maybe do a video on drugstore price skin care with good actives and/or a video on cruelty free skin care. Your product line looks amazing but unfortunately I just don't have much room in my budget for skin care. I had been using the cerave hydrating cleanser and the cerave PM moisturizer (which had ceramides, niaminacide and hyleronic acid) along with a hyleronic acid serum and a salicylic acid serum from the ordinary but I've had to give up the cerave because I've gone cruelty free. The closest I've found to the feel of my old products is the Yes to Cucumbers gentle milk cleanser and soothing daily calming moisturizer but I don't think they have as good of actives. I'm looking for a new hyleronic acid serum now too since I watched your video on the ingredient because the Ordinary's website says theirs has short, medium and long chain molecules. Ugh it's hard to have good, cruelty free skin care on a budget!
I remember some of this from chemistry, and it was nice to hear about these amazing compounds again. Whenever I think of these, I end up thinking about the plant before it’s harvested. I’m sure once that happens, more reactions start cascading, because it’s going to start breaking down. Then I start to think about our environment, and what the weather was like on harvest day, and would it be possible to ever get oxygen off hydrogen out of the way?
As a chemistry major, this was very interesting to watch! But I doubt people who don’t have a chemistry background would have had an easy time keeping up! I know I had to rewind a few times!!
Would love to know the best essential oils on the market based on their chemistry. Like the difference in compounds between say a cheap essential oil to a supposedly very good essential oil like young living oils
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons vs aromatic rings in essential oils... Are they the same thing? I've heard synthetic fragrances can be carcinogenic but what about natural fragrance?
Curious if essential oils could strengthen UV filters. Or any synergistic effects that they have with other skincare ingredients or if turpenes interact with each other (as I've heard is the case with marijuana). Cool vid!
Nice work, but I want you to make a video or write up on the roles of essential oils in pharmaceutical and healthcare delivery. I want to reach out to you.
I love the content of this video and would love to help add captions to reach a larger audience. Would you be amenable to community-contributed captions?
Just found your channel and you're amazing! I have a question. Do the mediums in which an essential oil is contained prevent/delay break down? For example if an essential oil is in a carrier oil would this delay the breakdown? Thank you for your hard work 💓 subscribed.
I see a lot of this names in shampoos, conditioners, hair masks, leave ins. I thought these were fragrance in products, am I correct? And this elements in product formulation really come from EO or they can be synthetic?? Hi from Brazil! Love your content!😉 I am now heading to the second video of the series, I am really interested im EO and their benefits. Already got tea tree, peppermint and bergamota.
