I could watch a 3 hour version of this, so captivating.

What I miss in this table is the fusion processes inside stars. Oxygen, Carbon, Neon, Silicon, Iron (from memory, probably incomplete) are fused inside stars in the comparably non-violent burning process. Are those lumped into the processes of "dying" of those stars?

It's complicated, but basically yes. Many of those elements are dispersed into the interstellar medium during a supernova.

Fortunately, I can enjoy life, even if my atoms doesn't come from the edge of the universe, actually, I am not sure I had even noticed if they did

This is the way.

Fascinating, I hadn't seen that chart before. The thing that struck me was that low-mass elements Li, C and N are significantly green, then there's a big gap before green comes back at Sr and Y. What makes a dying low-mass star able to manufacture C, N, Sr, Y, Sn and Sb, but not O, Si, P, Fe, Ge or As?

We & our universe are but the ceiling above an un-lidded blender . . . we carry the lost tails of entropy : )

Strange that you did not comment on the chunk of titanium smashing through Saturn's rings as if the were solid sheets of glass. 🤔

@@francoislacombe9071 Titanium doesn't set off the metal detector. But it does surprise the people watching the body scanner. 😀

Hey, Mike. What's your opinion on Przybylski's Star which has weird levels of rare elements in them like actinium, protactinium, neptunium, plutonium, amerecium, curium, berkelium, californium, and einsteinium? What could cause that? Do you buy it as a possible technosignal?

Some aliens are seeding a star with metals to attract attention? How many kilos or tonnes must they mine/extract somewhere else to throw into a sun? And how long must they keep it up before anyone notice?

That's a strange one. I think most likely it's getting bombarded with radiation from an unseen neutron star companion but that's proven difficult to test.

but if this years iPhone has been born out of a supe-rmassive black-holes - what are they going to make next years iPhone out of? if if came from the edge of the universe, image the hassle, if you got a broken one! 🤔 don't think it would be worth, posting it back
