Thanks for enquiry. I have not worked on biolubricants. From the readings I can say that biolubricants need to be stabilized against its easy oxidation and other thermal related issues. One solution is the use of polymers and polymer composites which are self-lubricating. Other is to use biolubricants but some may contain harmful substances (such as traces of sulfuric acid) due to processing. Thanks for valuable comment. 👍
Hello sir, i am using an additive to my mineral 15w40 engine oil and this additive contains the long chain chlorinated olefin. I am using this additive since the end of the 90's without any problems. Is it true that the Chlorinated Olefin WILL corrode the engine regardless of the additive mix? The additive is resitant from -50 to 315 degrees celcius. Thank you. Rob
Rob, General belief is that the presence of chlorine will corrode metals and it is true. However, I do not have data for your type of application. It is interesting for me to know more about the additive molecule you are using. Could you share? Thank you.
Sir..kindly guide additives by name can be used in diesel to emulsify it and make it a water soluble metal cutting fluid which turns thick milky emulsion when water is added to it..Regards
Not sure about diesel to be used as metal cutting fluid. Normal base oil lubricant can be emulsified using sodium sulphonates with stearate or oleate boundary additive. I will leave it to you to search for diesel emulsification. I believe it will follow the same trend as normal base oil lubricant. Diesel might be more expensive than base oil.
