Ok.. We have solved this problem. And it works great! Heres what to do.. First. Think of what the child likes. Cookies, cake, any sweets really Second... Walk into their room and say this!!! Hey I brought you some cup cakes and cookies. They will instantly stop the terror and start looking for the cup cake. I'll say mmm don't these cookies look good. And the child will pause. Look at you and say yeah I'd like some Then everytime you do this the child will wake up nicely from the terror.. This helps immensely!!!!! Now when our child starts to have one. I walk in and say. Cup cakes and cookies. The child then automatically remembers the key words.and says oh my gosh I was dreaming.... This has helped 100% Now if the child starts to have one, the thought of cup cakes and cookies will pop in their head and they auto correct.. no joke... This episode here was terrible... Dont let it control your child..... Be there for them and help. Dont just allow it.... Say here are some cup cakes and cookies. They will look over at you holding an imaginary plate of cookies and actually stop the terror instantly!!!

My 3.5 year old daughter just had one, I think.. it was so scary that I started crying after she fell back to sleep. She woke up screaming and crying and she was hot, sweating, and her heart was pounding super fast. I tried to hold her and I said "it's OK mommy's here" and she looked at me with this eery, blank stare and then started screaming that she wants her mommy again as if she didn't recognize me! Then she'd stop and stare at the wall and still had this eery look in her eyes, something I've never seen before.. I didn't know what to do! I was scared myself.

My triggers are stress and media related. I relax more and dont view certain things now and they have reduced greatly. From 15-20 times a month, as a child, to 4-6 times a year, as an adult. Seek out conscious triggers to minimize subconscious mind mix-ups. Good luck 🤞

I had this as a child. I developed an understanding of the dream i had every time i had a terror attack night. It was a dream of a fully dark space of nothingness. There was a large wooden box. I could lift it like it was nothing. No weight at all. It put me in a state of rage. As if i was burning on fire. Literally walked into my parents room screaming and sat on the bed acting and saying i was in fire. I was 3 years old when it started i figured the dream out at age 8. It stopped when i figured out the dream.

Not sure if this is what a night terror is but I would wake up in middle of it and see my mom and siblings telling me to wake up, it sounded like they were screaming at me and I remember screaming and crying desperately trying to get away from them because in my dream (I had this dream everytime this happened) they were forcing me into a big machine where I'd get swished between two HUGE concrete cylinders that were rotating really slowly, and I'd hear my own bones cracking, I remember everytime I'd wake up for a split second and catch glimpses of my mom trying to comfort me and it was terrifying.

I had the very same situation. Her pediatrician didn’t even know the difference between night terrors, and nightmares. We lived in an apartment, so luckily there were no stairs. Whenever I tried to calm her I would get hit, kicked, pinched. She never remembered anything when she woke up. I started a new approach. I would stay in the living room and call her to me. She would walk down the hall, eyes open. I would tell her to sit in her chair, and she would. I would start a conversation. It would be something real, and completely apart from the moment, such as, would you like to plant a tree? She would answer something equally detached, like, dogs would like it but it will fall down. We would continue a few minutes until she would wake up. It was nothing remarkable. She would simply start talking sense. I would ask her for a hug, and send her back to bed. After a few times, at the point when she would wake up, she would ask, did I do it again? It eventually occurred less often, but didn’t stop until her mid teens.

Same here. I’m 18 and it still happens sometimes. I remember the worst thing ever was when I woke up once on the carpet in my room and I was lying in a puddle of droll. I had gone to sleep normally and i didn’t remember anything at all. I used to hate myself because it was so annoying for those around me. I’ve had like maybe 10-15 dreams in total in my childhood I’d say. For me, I’d close my eyes and then I’d have this sudden realisation that I’m asleep and suddenly one second later I’d be awake. I felt as if I literally was awake one second earlier and just opened my eyes again when in reality I’d been asleep for so long. Still no dreams. I remember nothing.

ive had many Night Terrors, and have taken mental notes. When a person is near a rested mode and ready to sleep, somewhere in the brain, you would feel a sense of weakness as you would start to tire. umm,,, don't go to sleep. It is a good indicator that an onset of a Night Terrors will begin. It is hard to shake it off. It is not light headedness or dizziness. The feeling is of weakness.

Awwww I’m so sorry to hear that. I know she said don’t wake up the child, but in my experience the terror must be broken, and that is done by first waking the person up and then gently caressing them until they feel safe again. When they wake up from sleep, the terror (really acute stress) lingers, so going back to sleep immediately is not a good idea. Gentle strokes help the person reconnect with the real world so they can go back to sleep without the stress of the night terror. They will feel good again after that so don’t worry for your baby.
@violetgibson9
@violetgibson9 2 года назад
It is actually stressful to attempt to sooth or wake them. I took a different approach with my little girl. I would stay in the living room when I hear her start up. I would call to her, sounding firm. She would come to the living room and sit on her little chair. She would appear to be awake, but having a conversation, she made no sense. In a few minutes she would say something normal, like, wasn’t I in bed? That approach allowed her to come through it without trauma. Getting her to come to me caused her brain to focus on doing that, and eased her away from the attacks. If I tried going to her, it only made her feel attacked. On those occasions she would tell me she thought I had a knife. 💔 Her pediatrician was no help, so I had to find a solution myself. I hope you find this, or something else helpful.

What we discovered is that a shower with our baby would help him, within minutes the terrors stop. Falling back into sleep has never been an issue (for the child). If the child is in complete panic, it just doesnt make sense not to try to wake him/her.

Then I had to run through the witches to go to this bathroom but the door wasn’t fully closed but after that one found me then I made a run for it and then I he caught up to me and was about to bite me but then I said “Hey! Hey! I know where the black (magic or map) is!” While halfway in a scared and crying voice then I blocked out then woke up. NOTE: This was not animated in my dream it looked like REAL LIFE.

I've only had a night terror whenI was 11-12 years old. At the time, I was still sleeping with my mom because I didn't like my older bed as it felt too uncomfortable to sleep on. One day my mom claimed that she was having trouble sleeping and then out of the blue, I started to scream loudly. When she asked what was wrong, I started crying while saying "Nightmares" and she soothed me until I 'Fell back asleep'. Now, here is thing thing; I have been experiencing Nightmares since 2008-09 and it occurs so much I am just used to it, not even the worst nightmare can get me screaming. okay so im confused if i have night terror or not because I remember being little and always waking up at night and sitting up to look around my room to check if someone was there or something. I dont know what i was looking out for but i would always look around. But all i remember is that everytime i would wake up i would be so scared and my breathing would be very heavy but yet I would go back to sleep like nothing happened. Im fifteen now and it doesn't happen to me anymore but there is this thing were i go into a limbo state or something, i dont really know what to call it because its kind of hard to explain to be honest. It happens rarely but when it does happen its really weird. For ex, sometimes i get this thing were ill wake up at night (i feel like im truly awake, but maybe im not idk??) but then ill fall back asleep no matter how hard i try to stay awake. For example, one time I woke up and i heard my dad, mom, and sister all laughing in my living room and having a normal conversation. But then I sit up on my bed and looked through my door expecting to see the living room light on and them talking but, no. :,) Instead, when I looked through my door my house was pitch black, dead silent, and everyone was asleep. I was so scared, I tryed to stay awake but I couldn't help but fall asleep. And the weirdest part of it all is when I wake up or whatever I know that when I fall back asleep something bad is gonna happen/ im gonna have a nightmare.

Almost for the past twenty days, my kid wokes up around 3 am and starts screaming badly, crying angrily and asks us to take out for play or else someother requests. Everyday going to bed has become terrific for us. Dunno how to solve this? Appreciated if u advice us
@ImmortalIdeas

Night terrors are not dreams. And cookies and cake to make them sleep? That is nuts.

I had them as a kid and psychic dreams because I do have a few psychic abilities and I know most gifted children go through this I remember now to call out to god for protection

100% You are correct. Call on Jesus he has the power over this realm as people who experience this are under attack in the spiritual realm as they must be anointed and Satan is trying to attack them. Whatever happens in the spirit maifests into real life

Last night I had a night terror but it wasn’t just one. It was all in one dream and I kept waking up in the same dream over and over and in one of the dreams within the dreams I thought that I finally woke up from the night terrors so I went over to my dads bed. My night terror dream was placed at my dads house. I then woke him up in tears because I was so terrified but then I thought to myself “what if this was another dream?” Then I bit my lip and couldn’t feel it and then I think my dad killed me but idk. The dreams kept on happening I think I woke myself up from how terrified I was, because of how hard I hit my head, or because I was screaming as loud as I could but you can’t really scream loud in your dreams or at least for me I can’t. I went up to my mom after biting my lip so many times it hurt and just balled because it was terrifying. Is this normal? I’m 12 right now and this has never happened before. Also now I won’t be able to sleep which sucks :( Edit: I think I’m traumatized

That is not night terrors. It is a nightmare. They are not the same things. Several years ago I had a series of nightmares similar to yours. I would wake up from a frightening dream, and then another terrible thing would take place. Now, don’t laugh, but at one point, I dreamed that I woke up and went straight to the bathroom. While sitting on the toilet, there was a huge crash, and the wall between the bathroom and outdoors came crashing in… because a mob of vicious looking men rode their motorcycles through it. So, at that point I simply thought, well this time I am definitely dreaming. I then thought I better wake up so I don’t do my business in my bed asleep. Let me tell you how I stopped it. I had been trying to write a novel. This was decades ago, and home computers weren’t very common yet. I was writing it all out by hand, which is quite a lot of work. I was spending every minute I could on it. In fact, I constantly fell asleep pen in hand. I even woke once to find I had scribbled nonsense as I dozed off. I came to the conclusion that I had taxed my creative part of brain to the point it would stay on during sleep, and try to be so creative, it could fool itself. I stopped writing completely, and refused to do anything creative. It soon stopped happening. You might be experiencing something similar. Maybe not with creativity. It could be something you do which is excessively repetitive. Nightmares are not always the result of something bad. Sometimes they are practice, to see how we might react in various situations. Hopefully, by this time you are over it, but even if you are, maybe my story will help someone.

I had these when I was a kid about falling. They have came back now I think because of a drinking habit/stress and I'm 26 years old. Now the sleep terrors are about murder or extreme violence, couple times I was getting stabbed in my dream or attacked by big cats and wake up screaming and my adrenaline pumping. Very uncomfortable but I'm hesitant to see a doctor in fear they will prescribe me medication.

Sleep terrors is a condition which is not dreams, not nightmares. It involves screams, thrashing, possibly kicking. Trying to soothe a child/person during night terrors can get you beat up, and they have no knowledge of it, no memory about it. My youngest child suffered from it. She could also sleepwalk with it.
