I'm in chronic pain, see my dr. every 3 months for the last 2 decades, and for the last 10+ years, have taken hydrocodone both symptomatically at times for greater pain, and regularly (once nightly), with NO addiction problem! Yes, I understand it CAN be addictive. But it's also true that Not everybody becomes addicted to it! I cannot remember ever taking more than 3 in 1 day - and that's usually only after dental procedures, for a couple days. I am careful to use ibuprofen and aspirin (by itself) when my pain is lower. But opioids can be used responsibly.
