What are plyometrics and what is its. Purpose?
Plyometrics also known as plyos or jump training are exercises that train the muscles in a maximum effort in a short period of time to improve power and speed this.
Doing plyometrics can really beneficial to a person because it trains the body to handle load much better which would improve balance and strength. Another reason to consider doing plyometrics is that you do not have to do extremely challenging exercises just to get better it comes down to a matter of proper progression and understanding who should be doing certain plyo exercises.
At the core of plyometrics the muscles are being forced into a eccentric contraction then immediately turned into a concentric contraction this would be called the stretch shortening cycle. So to put simple the muscles work like a rubber band and the after a certain amount of eccentric force the muscles fire concentricly.
Here is workout you can do that is a bit advance if you have never does these types of exercises I highly recommend you get a coach who is properly trained so you dont get hurt.

Is it alright to do plyometric exercises barefoot? I only wish to do this at home so I plan to do it without shoes LOL Thank you for your video!♡

@LivingaStrongerLife 2 года назад
@@SSSassenach yes you can just take it slow as you feet might be sore from having to handle the load by itself. Which is good it means stronger feet just progress appropriately

When doing the exercises, should you do them as hard as possible?

I started my health journey with jumping rope and then worked through beginner, intermediate, and expert plyometric books combined with sprint running. In 3 months I lost 25% of weight in fat and gained explosive muscle. Ten years later I now use body weight exercises and HIIT/LISS cardio.

Thank you for the content, I would like to ask why after the jump we need to land on a squat position? why not just land standing still?
@LivingaStrongerLife
@LivingaStrongerLife 2 года назад
It's best to land in a squat position to dissipate the force so your knees and back do not take the brunt of it. It also allows you to be better at transitioning into another athletic movement

What are you thinking about when you do plyo training? In bodybuilding you make a mind muscle connection (is my chest activating the way I want), in strength training you make a mind movement connection (scaps retracted? elbows tucked? grip width correct?). I'm trying out plyos from that world and I think its a movement connection but am curious about where the brain is to maximize effect.

That's a really good question, I just started doing this myself and if someone reads this with a good answer I'd love to hear it 😂

It depends on which plyo drill you are doing, but for the most part, I always try to visualize loading up like spring, then releasing that spring once I hit the ground or right before I jump

What stretches do I have to do before and after polymetric trainings? Cuz Ik everytime I play sports for example, I always have to stretch cuz my muscles are so sore and everything
@LivingaStrongerLife
@LivingaStrongerLife Год назад
Honestly I would not recommend that you stretch before Plyometrics but rather do a warm up that will the get the muscles ready for the activity. This should also help with your soreness recovery

Doesn't it deteriorate the knees, joints because of jerks ?
@LivingaStrongerLife
@LivingaStrongerLife 2 года назад
If done excessively and incorrectly it definitely has the potential to cause harm. However if program correctly the joints should bennefit from the training

Does jumping rope count as one of these exercises?
@LivingaStrongerLife
@LivingaStrongerLife 3 года назад
Unfortunately no even though it is a good exercise jump rope does not recruit that many muscles as the jumping exercises do and the point of plyometrics is to recruit as many muscle fibers to be explosive

One of my main issues with plyometrics is that I don’t know how I should feel after being in a plyometric work out. For example let’s say you trained abs, you’d know your getting the benefits of training in that area because you feel that tension in your stomach, and you might even see a pump. But with plyometrics im not sure if I should be feeling as if I just went and tried to jump as high as possible 100 times, or if I should feel as if I did a fair amount of cardio, and mild to barely any tension in my legs.
@LivingaStrongerLife
@LivingaStrongerLife Год назад
That's a valid point however the way you train Plyometrics is not the same way you train individual body parts. Because it is such high intensity exercises doing hundreds of reps and not necessarily better in fact too much Plyometric volume will take away from the goal of jumping higher, being more explosive. I know it might not seem like much but the Central Nervous System is taking a toll and improvement can be attained with lower volume. In personal experience what ends up being sore are my abs after a hard Plyometrics training session of 160 foot contacts
