What are PROTOGEN FURSUITS? 🤔 

I make custom guitars and I can say this has given me an idea for an led guitar that goes along with music👍

Protogen fursuits are a very unique species in the fandom. I have yet to see a protogen in real life, but would still love to see one someday. There should be more protogens in the fandom, personally I think they're hecking cool! And as always, great video! Much love!

I just saw these today for the first time, and I'm hooked. I've been a lurking furry for years, but have never taken that leap to make a fursuit. Although I'd likely start with a partial suit (head, hands, and feet), making one of these heads is a maker's dream come true. It not only involves plenty of skills to learn, but it's an excuse to build a vaccuforner and to get a bigger 3d printer. Luckily, I'm a professional software developer and electronics hobbyist, so the techy parts wouldn't be bad. It was either going to be this, or a Deadmau5 helmet.

Sentient toasters....I laughed way too hard at this. While I am not a furry, I really do appreciate the love and dedication that goes into making something as complex as a fur suit, and especially when you add (as AvE would say) angry pixies and electronicals to them. Those head displays are really gorgeous.

Recently I have found myself constantly zoned out on RU-vid, I feel like have reached the end of thing worth watching form all the channels I like and end up letting my brain rot rewatching the same stuff or stuff I just don’t care about, but I feel like your videos have stood out a lot to me recently as something genuinely entertaining and enjoyable which I don’t just zone out watching. Ive done 2 Protogen to this day, and im on the making of the third one. Something to understand is that the worst is the visor, vaccum forming is extremly hard, i do it with a barbecue but still there is a lot of fail even with experience. An usefull advise, make your Protogen in ABS or at least PETG filament, because PLA deform at only 60°C (hot car can go to 70 pretty easly)

This video is amazing!! I've been excited to see you cover protogens for a while, especially after your electronic fursuit tail video! But since you mentioned it, for a microcontroller I use the Teensy 4.0 from PJRC (which can be programmed like an Arduino) and for power currently, I use lithium-polymer battery packs but will be switching that out for something... less-flammable like a lithium-ion battery pack lol

I’m no furry, but I’m interested in wearing one of those protogen costumes.

Murder Drones, episode 1 made a reference to Protogens. There is a line near the end where one of the murder drones says to the main character "...for a barely sentient toaster." I so did not even make the connection until just now. Actually, the Primagens BUILT the Protogens. Primagens needed workers and thus designed Protogens. The Protogens rebelled against their creators. FYI, it is pronounced "Prime Uh Jen", not "Prim Uh Jen". In other words, they came FIRST, as in Primary species. 3d printing the the visor IS possible. It just requires transparent filament. You don't actually need to vacu-form the visor. You would need a Raspberry Pi in order to run a full-head LED display like that. The reason Protogens are rare is due to the closed nature of the species.

I currently am pretty interested in furry stuff, specifically Protogen stuff, so if I ever do get a fursuit, it'll definitely be a Protogen one, even if it isn't electronic

Personaly I love the protogens, there are smaller protogen fursuit makers but it is true its not something easily done. Arkoss is an Argentinian protogen fursuit maker that on a con explained the complicated process it was to make his protogen, the visors themselves is a huge roadblock that is pretty complicated to figure it out which is why it is not commonly available and often costly

These are indeed unique and I’ve seen a few over Midwest fur fest this year they look so interesting I wouldn’t mind taking a crack at making seeing I just made my first full digi suit this year I’d see it as a challenge

I didn't know that finding suits and makers was so rare. Maybe I should see what I can do. Not saying it would be easy and not trying to play down the skill of everyone I'm sure I would need a bit of practice, but I do have experience in all the required fields. Cool stuff.

When or if I ever did make my protogen I would have Flippers for my symbols as I love pinball and I would have pinball sounds coming from myself. :) And it would all be from pinball machines from my own collection too.

Im 14 and i made my own "partial" lol. I had the foam to do so i just convinced my dad to get me the fur and a head band for the ears. It doesn't look the presttiest for Llama toes but i still can do stuff lol. I made my own hands and tail and ears for my Llama fursona, i did around Halloween and said its just a costume lol. So all i do is wear clothes for my fursona then just put the paws and tail on and ears and im all set now for a "partial" lol

When I'm older I'm hoping going to get a protogen fursuits and maybe my mum can help me with programming that's kind of what she specializes in

i kinda wanna build one just to figure out how to do it

geting all the parts for protogen first is going to be costly. just geting everything for mine so far has been $1500. but the outcome is far better than the factor of looking at it and saying "i want one." its the satisfaction of now having something that is nice to look at and wear around. but there are a lot more of us than you think
