we human don't just sleep the same time and wake up the same day due.. to what we do are not the same.. i do had some issue that i can not sleep like one of two time a week.. however... i can adjust my sleep due to being a business owner.. and i had been dealing with it since my school day... best thing to deal with it is you just had to accept that tonight you might not get any sleep and yes you will feel like shit.. but it will be over..
Anurag Sosa teenage years are probably the best years of your life socially. So to decide between sleeping at 10 (which is considered early for most teens) or to stay up later or go out later is a tough thing to do. If schools started later and finished later then it would greatly increase productivity. Especially since many studies show that a teenagers brain doesn’t reach full wakefulness until atleast 11am
Vedang Shendye What do u mean, middle schools are only 7 hours pre day(9to4) you have 7 hours in school and 17 hours of free time, you could totally spend that 17 hours sleeping insted of scrolling through TikTok or playing video games
WOW! I didn't know about there are 4 sleep stages. I normally woke up on stage 2 and/or stage 4. I am having very difficulties sleeping early every night. I will try your tips. Thanks for the useful information.
The reason i searched for this video s because slept at 2:30 AM and woke up by myself at 7:30 AM for work feeling sooo great and i was confused on why i felt good and less groggy even though i only slept for 5 hours. Good to know about these cycles.
I wake up frequently during the night. Mostly because it's a comfort issue..I'm always tossing an turning. Also , I have to sleep with the TV on. I can't sleep with silence..if the power goes out or my TV goes off in the middle of the night, I wake up. And somehow I sleep better if I have a full stomach..almost opposite of the whole video..lol!! BUT, it's a matter of changing habits.
So if I’m understanding correctly we want to sleep at least eight hours depending on our age and within that eight hours we want to make sure that we reach all four stages in each 90 minute sleep cycle for the duration of eight hours. How do we make that happen though? How do we make our bodies hit all four stages? Is the first step to figuring out what time our body needs to start to go to bed? And I’m assuming this is different for each person? So is that called circadian rhythm and how do we figure that out?
So if you wake up several times to go to the toilet, then go back to sleep. Do you carry on from the sleep cycle you were in prior to waking up? Thanks for the great video!!
your system shut down at night... so it best to go to toliet before go to bed so you don't need to go... until early morning and then it won't matter what time...
So seems to be more important we sleep for multiples of full sleep cycles. 4 cycles would be 6 hours, 5 cycles would be 7.5 hours, 6 cycles would be 9 hours. Question is how many cycles do we subjectively need. Should we omit the alarm and wake naturally to avoid waking during stage 3 or 4
it depend. some people had very short cycles.. don't think of what but look at why you need more or less sleep... usally if you used up your body.. more sleep and don't do jackshit.. lesss.... but still best to had the same time of sleep and same wake up time...
if your neighbor is using a drill at 6:00 AM just google Mattress Clarity + how to murder your neighbor and get away with it xD Disclaimer: This is a joke.
First dislike. Useless video, not based on any fact. On the begging he said you may or may not wake up grumpy, not explaining as to why. He seemed like someone who read an article and just decided to make a video out of that. Aka not an expert to share such information
Understanding sleep cycle_ 1. 1:30 hour(90min) one sleep cycle_4stages 🌟Stage1_Light Sleep 5-7 minutes 🌟Stage2_Intermediate sleep 25min, u don't feel groggy if u wake up this tym 🌟Stage3_ deep sleep, can't wake up easily 🌟Stage4_REM sleep rapid eye movement, dreams come, memory storage Nap time_10-30 min Or completing sleep cycle
Very informative video! I think I need to do shorter naps and wake up in stage 2. I usually feel worse if I nap too long and wake up startled and heart beating fast. Idk could be something to do with the anxiety or the stage of waking up. I like to have it cold and pitch dark when I sleep too and no sounds. Thank you for all the info!
I use to sleep so very deeply and loved it, but not anymore due to health reasons. Now if only businesses and schools would adapt schedules more conducive to allowing all to get proper sleep LOL Great information, thank you.
the whole point of that kind of scheduels so kid adjust to that kind of business time... if they had to work anti social hour.. then it is best you had to learn ability to adjust to certain time not.. try to work whenever since your body can not deal wit it...
Hello! So glad I came across your video! I'm concerned about myself as I only get deep sleep at the beginning of the night in a few cycles which is roughly around 45 mins a night? I'm 24 years old, keep fit and healthy and try to get to bed at good timing but why am I only getting deep sleep at the 1/4 of my sleep? Never any after that!
Nice informative video. Is it “normal” to wake up after each completed cycle? Or easier to be woken up? I seem to wake every 2-3 hours at the same time most nights. Usually I take a quick bathroom break then fall back asleep usually without issue. Is this something I need to address or normal?
@ 4:45. Blimey that's hot. (IF winter) not even day. I an do 68⁰f day but I lower to 61⁰f sleep but in wool blanket. Summer is different. I'm aiming for 68⁰f But the upstairs & downstairs units temps don't match real room reading. Sometimes it feels like 62⁰f
Nice video, I found value and good information. I've been paying more attention to my sleep this year and have seen a lot of benefits when I'm consistent with my sleep.
I am going to be trying the Uberman soon, a polyphasial sleep schedule, where you sleep for 20 minutes every 4 hours (so 6 times every 24h), and that all day. So you never sleep for longer than 20mins at once.
I get it thanks for the explanation but... my problem is I can't get to sleep... so I should be up at 7 am for work etc. This means I need to sleep at 11:30 right? So I will have 5 cycles problem is I can't sleep at 11:30 there is just noway.
Hey I get sleep paralysis so I got a Samsung band its says I only get 2min average every 7 days I wake up all the time every hr but I didn't know that until I got the band when I have sleep paralysis my band shows big stress and heart beat goes from 40 to 60 back to 40 wierd right
why is readinga book ok and reading a screen isnot ok? Isn't it about your brain working in comprehending the text? Is it really about actual ligt from the screen (as in if you read the same text from the paper it is ok, but the exact same text from the phone - not ok)?
So is you cool in the sleep cycle of stages 3 and 4 is it priding to to listen to music before you go to sleep or read that wasn’t necessarily clarified-like Claritin clear
I knew about rem sleep but I had no idea there were 3 more stages. I love informative videos like this! Thanks...The tips to help get to sleep are spot on, everytime I open a book I fall asleep after the first 4 or 5 pages. It's as good as a sleeping pill..lol... and it caused some bad grades when I was in school...I was only able to read The Odyssey 4 or 5 pages at a time so I missed deadline for my essay😮..haha
I don't want to be rude but this dude puts emphasis on everything and articulates too much. His facial expressions are like DUDE YOU GOTTAAA CHEKX THIS OUTTTTT. He's talking so intensely like he's explaining hardcore rocket science.
What happens when you wake up during REM? What happens if you wake up right after REM ends? When would be the best time to wake up to remember my dreams?
Very informative. I learned something new today. I never reach stage 4, maybe not even stage 3 since i suffer from insomnia. The littlest things wake me up and its so hard to fall back asleep. I get about 3-4 hours of sleep a night. But recently i started taking CBD oil and got a white noise machine and its getting better, thanks to you guys at Mattresses Clarity for all your informative videos of all these products. Thank you👍
71 degrees is very cold? 70 degrees is too hot for me. We are all so different in what temperatures our bodies prefer. 66 degrees in the winter and 68 in the summer are perfect for me.
is there anyway for us to shorten the sleep cycle? a little bit of my personal experience, there are times when i wake up in the morning and feels like i don't get enough sleep and i'll just hit the snooze button (it's bad i know) and what happen is really weird.. i'm sure i feel like i'm falling back asleep, like into a deep sleep and when i wake up i thought "oh no, i must've miss my alarm since i didn't heard it anymore after i hit the snooze button" but when i look at my phone it's only been 1 minute since i hit the snooze button (my snooze last for about 5 minutes). the weird thing is i feel refreshed as if i have slept for 7 hours during that 1 minute. i can't control this and it just happen randomly.. i experience this a few time already. anyone else who has the same experience as me? and if anyone else know about the theory behind this or better, how to trigger this condition, mind sharing it with me?
lol make sure you go to bed at same time every night. that's hilarious. forced overtime shift work prevents any kind of normal schedule and not just for sleep.
why do I always feel like I make up my dreams and dream through out my sleep, and wake up remembering most details in my dreams while I was asleep, I actually feel like I remain in one stage through out the night, plus I keep on waking up in intervals every night, can someone please explain to me and recommend a possible solution
Wait but I’ve been watching vids about how to wake up just before REM starts (for lucid dreams) and most of them say to set my alarm for 4-6 hours after I fall asleep so will I go through like 3 cycles during this time
I knew there are 4 stages of sleep. I did not know they are 90 minutes each. I learned that athletes need stage 3 for recovery. I often wake during stage 3...frustrates me. I need more of the deep, restful sleep. Working on it.
i try to sleep at 10 pm... if you try to adjust every 12 hr like i used since i used to living in NZ... it fuck me to so hard since i brian keep confusing what time to sleep... 10 years later still a issue...
so it doesn't depend on how many hours you should sleep but how to complete yr sleep cycle so if i sleep maybe 3 hours so it's okay? i know i should sleep more but i just give u an example
Sleep duration is important too. Understanding your sleep cycle is helpful in knowing when to set your alarm. 3 hours is indeed too short. Experts say you should be getting between 7 and 9 hours each night.
Mattress Clarity ok but wich option will leave me more awake 1.6 hours of sleep, wake up at the end of a sleep cycle 2.8 hours wake up in the middle of the cycle.
woah 4 sleep stages in a sleep cycle, super informative about each stage. Thanks marten! First 3 fall under non-rapid eye movement to REM sleep. 😴 stage ONE : light sleep 1-7 minutes, wakefulness to sleep. Brain and heart activity starts slowing down. Stage TWO : intermediate sleep about 25 minutes, muscle, and everything else slows down as temperature lowers. Stage THREE: deep sleep. Muscles growing and immune system is strengthening. Important for athletes or people that workout lol it’s okay marten, i don’t workout either but i love my sleep ☝🏽💓 Breathing slow, heart rate is slow, hard to wake up during stage 3. If you wake up you’ll wake up groggy. 😖😖😖 Stage FOUR: rapid eye movement. body going into beast mode, blood pressure goes up, heart beat increases and beat being becomes more irregular and legs and arms are paralyzed. Learning is happening, memories are being stored 😍 I love to nap but i always wake up at the WORST times. 10-30 mins napping feel rested but after that, you’ll wake up groggy but a full 90 minute, you’ll go back to feeling refreshed. proper sleep we should be getting: teens 14-17: 8-10 hours 18-64: 7-9 hours 65+: 7-8 hours Yikes i definitely am not getting the sleep i need 😭 Make sure bedroom is cool, dark and quiet for help in getting some good sleep. Zomgggg i need some blackout curtains 😍 sleep mask and ear plugs and same sleep schedule even on weekends will be helpful to keep a good rhythm. Having caffeine in the evening could disrupt your sleep ☕️ and think about what you’re eating 🍽 Don’t eat chicken wings an hour before sleep 😂 got it. No laptops or electronics before bed. So so so smart, I’m on my phone for “5 minutes” and before i know it, I’ve been online for hourssss. My goodness. I’m going to start doing my homework right before bed because that ALWAYS puts me straight to sleep 😂😂😂 Thanks marten! Mattress clarity is genius as always! (I’m going to ignore that alcohol comment though 😂) This is such dope information, i had no idea. I sweaaaar mattress clarity has taught me more than all 4 of my classes this semester 😂 love coming home to new mattress clarity videos lol
I feel like I'm entering stage 3 as soon as my head reaches the pillow and nothing can wake me up until the morning lol. I even wake up in the same position 😂
