This is such a better way of describing the concept than just safe zones of farming based on tower state. It brings in the nuance that was missing in those other kinds ideas. Thank you!!!
Hey man, you really got something here. The way you explain the concept from every angle (behind tempo, front tempo, on tempo) really helps commit it to memory. Hope to see your channel grow bigger!
Neace was one of the most well known LoL coaches ever, and he didn't have a fraction of the credentials you have. You should take a real run at becoming the next big RU-vid coach, just gotta get on that grind with daily videos. With Neace going dark at the current time, there are thousands of players looking to fill that content hole. It could be your content they fill it with.
One of neace's coaches (Eragon as I recall) covered the same concept, in a video titled "Which Bus am I On" back in Neace's 4th bootcamp. So while most coaches don't seem to recognize this, beyond saying "you're out of position" without being able to explain what made you "out of position", it's not a brand new concept.
crazy video this is what I was missing even doe im in master elo i just couldnt understand why my team kept dying in mid lane wile i was in side lanes turns out it was my fault all along lol
having a master player aknowledging that this is the thing they are missing is very significant from my low elo point of view, goes to say just how significant this is
Bro, this has been so useful for me and I have been applying it to my gameplay ever since I watched this vid yesterday. Today, I won 5 games straight and finally got out of E2 this season because I was almost always playing with my team on the same tempo line. It's actually insane how much this affects gameplay.
One concept I knew roughly (as in yea stick where team can support you), but really had no idea about until explained like this, thanks again legend! Everyone get onto his coaching too! Highly recommended! (I'm one of his students)
If the first line is just one champ and far away from teammates, that's called the idiot line- And if it's the only fed champ on the team then it's the ff line
games are just so easy when non-macro oriented players subconsciously understand the concept and everyone is able to communicate just by action and intuition until some bonobo stops to think about their pride and ego because they feel like the game is being manipulated out of their control (even if it's a braindead easy win) then just desyncs for some highlight they'd post on their Facebook page with 0 followers i guess the next step to this concept is to illustrate how to rearrange tempo lines/slow down/reset, when it's sensible to desync, and/or reading enemies' tempo lines, but that's probably asking too much macro from solo queue dogs
Like an enchant support, you can only go as far as your teammates can go Personally, in rank, if you really want to use low survivability supp/adc You need atleast to duo to have more impact in the game
This just might be the most helpful practical macro guide for league.. I always get stuck on playing "perfect" macro and collecting waves while team gets caught, but with this framework you can do that without the risk aspect.
This has been something I've struggled with for sometime now I just recently began to think about abandoning my sidelane waves and just grouping when I'm ahead because as stated in the video, whenever I went to catch a wave away from my teammates, they would all die. Die, morale would dip and FF would be thrown up It's nice to see this video explain it perfectly Thanks coach
I must say after watching a bunch of coaches on youtube that this is a much more REAL approach to what solo queue really is. Awesome work Rogue direct to the point with no bullshit like "You're not getting bad teammates is all your fault type of thing"
This is really cool! It helps you see things differently, not just thinking about macros but what's working in your current game and adapting on the fly. You've earned a new sub from me!
Wow this has really given me some perspective. My recent couple of games were really frustrating because it felt like I was losing solely because my team refused to play safe when I was fed and trying to farm. This is the EXACT thing I was looking for :DD
This is quite interesting because I've never seen it explained as one single concept, but this is essentially the result of the combination of syncing recalls with your teammates, being aware of your teammates location, and using lull states to constantly reassess the state of the game.
am i the only one who facepalms about "tempo"? no doubt almost everything he said was logically correct and made sense but this is kinda overcpmlicating things. you dont need "tempo lines" or some other fancy terms to explain basic gameplay. just stick with your team and stop playing solo!
Currently a plat jungler and I feel like my early game is great and I fall off tremendously mid/late game unless my team is far ahead and snowballs. Seems this video is exactly what I’m doing wrong. I’m not paying attention much to my high tempo line and I find myself farming my camps when my team is pushed up and if I was on the high tempo line I could be there for fights or counter jungling to deny enemy farm.
This is great content. It explains the nuances in the game that truly separates different skill levels and are not just clear obvious macro / micro that majority of the players know.
I watch a lot of pro play and this made me realise something. Soloq is not a team game, you don't want to make the best macro decisions, you want to do what is best GIVEN what your team mates are doing, which is many times not the best macro decision
The usefulness of the lines break down once you consider differences in tower progress in each lane, and top lane vs. bot lane on the same line. Better way to put it is just, "be productive but stay close to your teammates".
this sounds like the ultimate top splitpush guide, knowing when to take towers, and when to just clear wave and wait it out. by far the best coach i watch on youtube, you describe everything so well it's easy to understand and use this in my own games
I WATCHED THIS VIDEO AND I SAID "MEEH this guy is full of bs, my elo is higher than his viewrs elo" But i applyed and omg... yes, this works! This makes sense! You actually helped me a lot. Of course 80% of people who watch is not going to apply, but i will.
excellent video! i was wondering how you got the match replay to let you zoom out SO far and enlarge the health bars like that? Its been a minute since Ive rewatched a match but I could have sworn they never got to even a fraction of that size :( is there a secret trick to making it better visually like yours?
This is a great way to think of the game. It's something me and many others who come from other mobas or RTS games iintuitively understand, but most of the playerbase don't pick up quickly.
This concept is great. As a silver player, i was making the mistake of thinking about priority, available turrets, wave state as loose correlates that need to be considered one at a time. This makes so much more sense when trying to figure the fundamentals out
i hit masters recently and i never even though about it like this. i feel this could help me get to gm in time. i already see many wins focusing on the tempo lines
Thank you for your video coach! Does that mean as an adc that I have to stick with the front tempo member all the time? Or can I push the sidelane too when I'm on the front tempo aswell?
if my understanding is correct, you can do either as long as you stay on the front tempo line tho you have to keep in mind that you're very vulnerable as an adc alone in a sidelane regardless of how far from base
amazing job! This is not tempo related so im sorry but i have a question anyways, should i rotate as sona and try to get herald and/or impact other lanes as other type of supports do or should i just take the lose in that aspect and chill surviving bot until i can swap to mid and impact the game from then unless its really free? I asked some high elo (masters+) people and some ask me to stay in lane unless its free and some others ask me to try and roam or match the enemy support even if hes way more roam oriented like idk bard. Whats your take?
Difficult to answer because it's hypothetical but I'll do my best. Generally enchanter supports are better at roaming then 'roaming' supports because of your lane dominance, you should be pinning the enemy to bot tower and then out roaming them because of it, so don't be trapped in the idea that you can't roam as Sona just because you aren't as useless as a bard or a nautilus, you should get there before them! The main question tho is are you doing anything bot, again Sona is a great champion for poking under tower and getting meaningful damage that wins you the lane, if you are doing this then great stay, no need to roam but if not then of course run up to help your team somewhere else. This is the main different between melee and ranged supports, a nautilus can't poke under tower, so of course he roams, often you can so you will stay but if you can't then yea, roam away!
Sorry its me again i have to make sure: im in low elo so i know that you wanted me to play for attrition war or roam then but happens to me that if i keep the wave pushed under enemy tower against engager/all in stuff and then i roam my adc tends to die cause they have the entire lane to run him down and hes not that smart to avoid it or wait for the bounce, so should i take the roam if its a good roam even if he dies (if its his missplay and not a dive/freeze/whatever in my hand) or how do you/high elo supp handle this kind of situation?@@CoachRogue
@@ianglazy2606 if ur adcs tend to die ping them off the tower/wave and tell them to wait for wave u have a small window to roam before the wave crashes, either enemy sup follows your roam which makes the window bigger or they dont and will try to dive your adc but by then you should be back/they need to give up a wave
@coachrogue this is tremendously hard to follow in game. I mean even in the replay it's really hard to determinate the right tempo. Say the last clip on Jarvan, I feel like it was forced to stay on front in the same tempo line of the ADC pushing in the sideline. Recalling means she will stay alone and probably die.. Meaning losing priority due to the 4v5 scenario. This time I admit, this is a really nice video, but it's just something that you can't put in place.. Simply because everyone is not taking care of their tempo and you ends up overstaying like Jarvan because you want to protect a team mate or recall ahead to spend money and reset the team tempo like the Rengar at the beginning. usefull video but not really applicable...
