The Al Furjan Markets project is a unique initiative launched in collaboration with Qatar Development Bank as well as a number of the government sectors​​ to support the commercial sector in the country. The project was launched in May 2013 to focus on building trading markets in diverse residential areas in Qatar. The objective of building these markets is to make the life of people residing in areas far from malls and the city center of Doha easier, through providing them with their daily necessities. This initiative also intends to reduce transportation costs as well as ease the traffic pressure on city center access and exit points.
