As someone who had braces: don't pick a light color if you want it to stay somewhat the same. Certain foods/spices can make pink look orange, grey look an ugly greyish-gold/ make it greenish. I can continue like that for a while. I had that problem a lot less with darker colors
Yeah, from my experience light blue can become green from some spices and take a few days to get back to normal. Dark purple or pink tend to work pretty well

I actually recommend dark purple or blue, because those colors stand out more. I actually think that green is a good choice but maybe not emerald green.
If you are a simple person and you want a mature color ,less attention on you, silver is to go color, it doesnt stain at all plus makes your teeth looks whiter. That is what i get everytime i go to my appointment.
As someone who’s had braces for 2 years… I always go with black. It makes your teeth look bright and whiter and no matter the food you eat it won’t stain the colour of it!! Because I’ve chosen other colours in the past but because of the food I eat, those colours turn green yellow or orange.
I started with transparent rubbers and then went up to red. But after those two I always chose dark blue. That was always the best option. I noticed others in my class with yellow and green rubbers, which always looked dirty. But nowadays I would go fully in and do a rainbow.
so i have a few recommendations for people who are getting braces (from my personal experience) Dark blue: complements most people and brown eyes /teeth look whiter Light blue : would totally recommend on people with WHITE-WHITE teeth or lighter skin ( tends to fade looks kinda silver-ish a few weeks in, in my experience ) Teal and Aqua : my go-to color, it looks good on most people, makes teeth look brighter White, Yellow, Brown, Green, and Clear : tend to make your teeth look stained and yellow-ish Lilac and Pink: both are such fun colors and g they look SOOOO good Black : makes your teeth look SOOO MUCH WHITER ( because of the contrast of black and white) Red : looks DOPEEE on most people Sliver : classic color, if you don't know what to pick i would pick silver Hope this helped!
I got light blue on bottom, and white on top. I have quite white teeth, so my orthodontist actually recommended it. The light blue ended up changing into a really pretty light, metallic, silver. Definitely recommend!

to sum it all up: what colors to avoid: - yellow and brown because they can look stained or unclean - white because they will look more yellow by comparison - dark green because it will look like food is stuck what colors to get (darker colors): ex: - dark blue because your teeth will look brighter if you have naturally darker teeth then - clear - metal

Yes, as audrey said, you can pick whatever colour you want, if you are going to pick colours like green or yellow though, I would advise getting brighter shades, but the truth is most colours can be problematic at times, people with red braces have said that sometimes people ask why their mouth is bleeding, so it really doesn't matter as long as it makes you happy.
I was also exited now i just want them out as soon as possible because the first week hurt so bad i literally wanted to die and every month when i have a appointment it always hurts afterwards

I’m getting braces soon, and I’m for sure picking silver! Here’s why: -I personally don’t want a bright color, it will annoy me if it doesn’t match my outfit -I don’t want clear, I have heard from many people that it stains easy and then looks gross -I don’t want white, because as the video stated, it would make my teeth look yellow Silver would match the original color of the braces, would match my outfits, wouldn’t stain, and wouldn’t make my teeth look yellow!

Another tip, I got black braces- Please don’t do it, everyone thought I had plack and dirt in my teeth.. some lighter teeth might look better in it, but don’t do black if you have dark teeth like me! ;-; Edit- please stop saying “but black looks good with braces”, I’m not being rude, I just gave a suggestion to people with *_LIGHT_* teeth. Today i got my braces.. My dentist asked about my color preferences and Left it upto him so he applied pink and now I got this video in suggestion.Thank god he didnt chose yellow

i first tried black and it looks cool! lol now i just got my first readjustment and changed to green (i know beforehand about this looking like there’s food stuck in my teeth, but i still pick it since it’s my fave color), also im planning to use all the colors available soon but maybe settle with black then 😆
what I do with my colors is I put black on top and a color on the bottom. The black on top is more noticeable than the color on the bottom, so I can try out new colors and if I don’t like it, it will be hidden.
The first time I went in for braces, I went with my most favorite color combination. Blue and Pink. I've been getting different combinations every time I go in. I just had pink and teal but I recently changed to blue and purple. These colors make my teeth look even more white because they are darker colors. Plus they are pretty colors together.
I love dark colors like navy or black, black looks awesome with light pink 😍 and colorful and rainbow combinations look so cute and are my favorite too. I've had almost all colors of bands and every color looks cool, not like I have food stuck or stained teeth, dark colors like navy, black and red does make your teeth look wither, choose the color you like the most, don't worry about what others think, if you like it, you will rock it! 😊
i'm getting my braces off in 2 weeks, and throughout 3 years and almost 5 months of braces, i always got, light pink, light blue, and lavender/lilac - i had lavender/lilac for the majority of the time
TEAL TEAL TEAL teal is probably the best colour that makes your teeth brighter as well as it being a safe option personally, i've had teal (bluish color) twice (and silver now because i had to have something added to mine WHICH IS ALSO A SAFE OPTION THAT YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH) i got it on july 17th 2021 and my teeth are already straight lmao (had to get braces because one of my adult teeth are stuck in my gum) ...that was long eesh
Navy blue and Dark purple are nice colors to make your teeth look a lot whiter! When I had red braces I personally thought my teeth were yellow, but when I got Navy Blue it looked a LOT whiter! 💙💜
I have had braces for about 9 months and legit every time I get my bands changed I get clear! I was thinking about getting light pink but I got clear 😂
Tip! I haven't watched the vid yet but I know this from science lessons at school. Any white plastic, fabric or any other material stains quickly if it's white or clear. This is because of the chemicals inside the material trying to stick to things to get colour. Another thing is clear or white materials can easily pick up dirt, dust or colour from anything quicker than any other colour. This is the same with ties on braces! Do not get clear unless you'd want it to turn yellow.

Well I only have my bottom braces in rn bc i have an expander , but i got hot pink & aqua blue , those are really pretty . But i recommend brighter colors for dark skins & darker colors for light skins
speaking from experience, i really like black, it makes your teeth look brighter and goes with your outfit, black goes with anything. dark blue is a good choice as well because it also can brighten up teeth and is a nice color. light blue is good, it fades a couple weeks in and looks silver-ish .
I like doing a mint and lavender combo, it's super cute and it makes your teeth look whiter! I also rlly like doing a orange pink color with a few purples its super cute as well! 😍
My friend Is getting braces soon (she missed her appointment due to a Traffic Issue) But if i got braces i would get probably Teal (light blue) And purple. Teal is my favourite colour and Purple is my best friend’s favourite colour So I like the idea
A color that i reccomend for you’re first color is sliver, just so you can kind of get a feel for braces and see how you will want them to look in the future when you get new colors
I recently got braces! I chose the color maroon/burgundy because it makes your teeth look amazing! I’d say the best colors are like a royal blue or a navy blue or maroon!
Even though i'm currently 11 and i'm gonna get braces at 13, I think i'm definetly going to go for dark blue for my bands since blue is my favourite color, and it is also recommended! :D
I sometimes miss my braces, Lol I always loved mixing up the colored rubber bands between top and bottom, and feeling cool as heck. Hot pink and Neon green were what I always went with.

Ok so my dentist told me to not choose clear ones because they kinda change color (if you can call it that) I have silver ones and they blend really well with my braces but in the back of my mouth I got clear ones and when they got taken out they were neon green in my opinion not the best color to have 😅 I hope this comment can help you guys in future or right now 😊

Well, I do not have braces yet. They say when I’m older I might have to get them. But blue is my absolute favorite color. So I’m glad is one of the best colors. I think a dark or light blue would be absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for all your tips and advice.
Oh please don’t get black. They look horrible! Because it looks like there’s food stuck in your braces. There’s so many colours to choose from but black isn’t the best. Black is honestly the worst colour, istg every time your going to smile your going to look silly. Silver is the best option
