We already made video for the Arabic ney in the video: www.arabinstruments.com/premium-egyptian-nay-dukah For the Turkish ney we will make a video very very soon....
Niri, you're a natural man! Untill now I've only seen you play but hearing you talk is a pleasure too! Well explained and especially love the personal touch in the end. Keep it up and looking forward to the next one :)
Many Thanks for this video. The Question should be further illustrated by CLOSEUPS of the two Instruments on a Table, lining up the holes of two instruments of the same size/ intonation. You could give a shot of a page showing measurements in centimetres of hole placements. The demonstration is good in the video but the camera operation needs improvement and better organisation of shots.
I bought a Turkish ney from you about 2 years ago and was unhappy with the quality . A ney player also said it was no good. A few months later I lost the baspare and you didnt even have a replacement in stock or even know the correct size was. I wasted money with a third party seller in turkey to find the correct size. I should have ordered another ney from someone else. That being said this ney in the video looks better and like the right kind of ney , the correct size along with the finger holes. Wish I got this instead of the old one.
Dear friend, many things have happened during to the 2 years, our neys are improved to the highest level, we have changed makers and we have full control on the process. Please contact via mail sales@arabinstruments.com us and we will try to give you a discount for your next ney. They are the best ever made!
Hi Niri Your presentation it’s so great really enjoyed !!! My question is that if you had to buy just one ney to cover all musical aspects what tuning should be ???
The lights in your studio are heavy resulting in 'a flooding'...the shapes and hole positions on the instruments can be seen better with less light flooding. I m talking from experience.
Thank you so much for the videos, I don’t know any thing about ney but I want to by Arabic ney in France, how can I choose the best one ? There are brands (like for the others instruments) or specific think ? Thanks for help 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I'm considering getting a ney/kawala. But I would like to be able to play with other musicians so I will need to play on multiple keys (hopefully all 12). How many keys can a single kawala/ney play, or in other words how many will I need to play all keys?
Technically, in a western tuned ney, you'll only *need* one, but its going to be so much easier to get one for each key, as you won't have to used forked fingerings
hello i have a question i have a turkish ney and i can manage to produce sound without putting my fingers on the wholes but as long as i put my fingers on the wholes, without moving the ney position, the blowing sound disappears do you have any tips for that?
Hello Mr. Sadeh, What is the difference between the Persian Ney and the Arabic Ney? Do Persians use the same Ney as Arabs? I listened to both and they look and sound similar. Looking forward to your input! Also, I hope to see more collaborations between Arabic and Persian traditional music and modern pop music, I am Iranian-American and have always loved Arabic music and I think it would be really cool to mix them together! Thanks! شکران
Niri I have a really important question and I'd be more than happy if you answer me. First of all, you are the best. Secondly, I wanna buy a ney for the sole purpose of hopefully one day being able to play Fairouz' songs. My question is which ney should I use for this objective? (I watched your video about the neys but I'm still not sure). And also can you PLEASE play some of fairouz' songs? Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for answering. I just wanted to make sure if I buy this ney, can I play other songs that are not on this ney? (I know the sound will be different but can I adapt them a bit to this ney?). And also I just wanted to remind you that I'm an absolute beginner who never held a ney before, so is this ney good for beginners? Thank you
Can someone show persian vs turk/arab ney. This is ridiculous its originally is persian but so many are focused on the difference on turk/arab, even thought they are nearly identical vs the persian with the less holes.
Baibac No, it is first used by Sufi muslims. The origin of the name ‘Ney’ is also Persian language used by Turkmens in Iran. So it is impossible that ney is founded in the arabic countrys. Sufism is also spreaded from Iran area.
