I am glad I came across your channel because I am really looking into being a esthetician. I am very passionate about the skincare/medical part of it and the makeup/beauty part of it. I love how you explain the different types of job you can get with that license.
The only problem that’s holding me back is I live in Virginia due to my husband being in the Military but I am from California and won’t back until the end of 2019. If I go to school here in VA and move to CA would I have to take another state board exam?
You radiate such a high vibe! I am a massage therapist, and love it, but have been inspired to become an esthetecan to and practice with a dual license. I start school next month! I started young in the industry at 19 and am so grateful for the ability to grow in to my passions. Your channel ia great!
Ah thank you so much, that means a lot. You should definitely consider doing esthetics, You can do so much in the beauty industry with your licenses. I appreciate your support, keep in touch! 😊💛
Girl I thought you were like 19-20!!!!! I would have never guessed you’ve been doing this for so long. You were one of the first people I saw talking about this and it really motivated me to go into this industry. I recently just started school and I’m absolutely in love!! It’s so much fun I can’t wait to graduate and get myself out there!! Great video ❤️🙌
My daughter is in school for esthetician. She loves it. I’m glad I found your channel so I can pass it along to my daughter. I love her ambition and I love your spirit and knowledge.
I'm so glad I found your channel. I'm about to register for my local esthetics program but began to get cold feet when I noticed SO many people online giving the career a bad rep. I love how positive you are, you're definitely a light and role model!!
Congrats on your new job! I love your videos I have been looking into esthetics for a while now and they’ve been so helpful! Especially this one I definitely have a better idea for my niche when I get licensed. Thank you! 💛
I'd like to thank you for posting these videos. I'm looking into becoming an esthetician and your videos are so informative. And congratulations on your new position!! I'm sure we'd all love to hear about it 😁
My mom has been a hair stylist for years now and she will not get my passion for making people feel beautiful ,and pay to be self reliant and Pleasing people were her biggest worry. but she will be proven wrong that I love this and I’m 7 years later still wanting this so I’m going to do what I am passionate for. I have served in food industry best of the job was speaking to people and connecting. I just have to keep growing and ur videos are mentoring me and this is empowering to me. I am beyond grateful for your help and thank you 🙏 I am so into lashes and brows done.plus with marketing your favorite company was something I would love to hear more about. I got to travel be busy and speak with people that connect to my passion. Bug support for this new career path and growth in successful ways.
your content is great but I would like to let you know that women aren't the only people who do lashes and go to dermatology offices, men like to be confident in their own skin too
We have similiar backgrounds! I have had my license since 07, but have worked within makeup more so. I am looking to get back into that route of the industry and the more medi side of skincare. I think that is why I didnt like the fluffy pampering spa. I want to dig deeper. I worked within salons and spas, Benefit brow babe, a wax specialist and most recently a rep for Urban Decay. I am so happy I came across your videos.
James Grimes yes, we have very similar backgrounds! I think you should have the experience working on the medical side. Not that you have to do it forever but you will truly benefit from the experience and education! Definitely take your career to the next level✨✨✨🙌🙌 Happy you found me too, keep in touch!
@@TheModernEsthetician Thank you for the message back! I would love to pick your brain on some things and other questions I have. Do you have IG and we could DM?
You are amaaaazing!! Very motivational. I’m starting school in April an hope I can be as knowledgeable as you. My biggest concern is not being able to make enough money when I’m done with school. I am located in Los Angeles and the market can be a little saturated but it’s a great industry and I love skin. My dream is to be a medical esthetician an open my own spa. Thanks for the great advice! Plz keep the videos coming
Thank you! I have many more videos planned! If you are drawn to this industry and you know it is what you are meant to do than you will make money! Dont get distracted, stay aligned and motivated and you will be successful!
Dang you really got me liking the medical side, I think I’m gonna do the paramedical course in New York but I gotta get through the course in NC so I can move back home and do that course if that makes sense. I am almost done ! I can’t believe it I’m so happy. I’m gonna look into the medical side because my aunt knows a lot of hospitals needing medical estheticians
I am currently in school for aesthetics and I really want to do lash lifts, lash tinting and extentions and Brazilian/american bikini waxes, other waxings and facials. So I guess more so looking into doing Day Spa services :)
Hi so I just wanted to let you know I’m doing my online esthetician school class and they are making us watch your video for a lesson! Congrats on all your success
I love your videos! Would love to see more about esthetics! I'm hopefully going to school this spring and cant wait to be a spa and medical esthetician 💙
Thank you for the videos. I'm in undergrad in college now and i have always wanted to do something with skin (laser, botox injections, treatments) but I never knew how to get into the industry. Your videos are really informative.

Hey I’m starting school in June 2020 for an esthetician program. I was wondering how I can go into being a medical esthetician once I finish school, like what steps do I have to take
Can you do a video on more or less what steps to take to get in to skin aspect or what to look for in a school? Would it be worth going to school to be a master aestetician?
Omg ! Ur videos are so informative. And thanks so much. New subbie ! Pls keep putting out such great content about this industry. This is gonna be the career for me !
I want to work with skin in particular like facials, skin care, treatments, consultations, massage etc what job would be right for me? I noticed that usually to be an aesthetician you have to also do nails, makeup, brows etc which I’m not interested in at all
c6tie same i watched a video that said becoming an esthetician consists of a lot of waxing, but i’m not really interested in waxing, i’m more into the skincare like facials and stuff :/
I was wondering if you can do a video on what questions to ask during an interview for the position of an esthetician in a medical office? I'd really like to know how you'd handle it. And also, what questions are you normally asked during interviews? Also, how would you respond?
Hey i had a question, im a medical assistant working for a dermatology office and at some point i would like to move up in the specialty, but im going back and forth with medical aesthetician or aesthetics nursing. I would like to know your opinion on which would be a better route.
you have been so helpful!!! I personally love makeup but I also really want to do lip fillers and botox ... do you have to go to nursing school to be able to do that?
Thank you for this video Kelsey! I just subscribed and followed you on IG :) i'm newly interested in starting a career as an esthetician and your video has gotten me even more intrigued! I know you said you can make good money from the various positions but can you give me more exact/estimates of salaries and money you could make from each of these different roles? thank you!
Sarah Massoglia thank you for commenting this, I’m wondering the same exact thing, i really wanna be a medical esthetician but the salary is so low and it’s rlly hard to get to 6 figures according to my mom’s friend who is a spa owner and esthetician herself.
Congrats on the new position. Please go more in depth about what you are doing now it will really help and give me more motivation to get into becoming an Esthetician. I’m kind of in a rut right now where I’m a Registered Medical Assistant been doing that for 4 years but I feel like I want to do more and become something else without having to spend a lot of time in school. I’m very much interested in the beauty Industry and want to do it all but didn’t have all the right information on what jobs you can acquire from this field as there are not much videos on this so thank you so much for this video it really helps to put my mind at ease about wanting to change careers.
honestly so helpful, subbed cuss im loving your advice. Thanks for the incite of the jobs you can get!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! loI wasnt to sure if i wanted to be an esthetician because originally I want to do eyelash extensions and since different trades in beauty you do different things. Now that im not confused w being an esthetician i can do all of this Im moving forward and going to be looking for schools in my area. your so pretty & congrats with your new job makes me so happy!!
Thank you so much for all this info ❤️ What advise can you give, I went to cosmo school over 10 years and failed the state board and felt discouraged so I never took it again after the 2nd time now I have always loved skin ( I suffer from eczema since birth) so I always tried to take care of my skin and been wanting to do esti program. Should I find an esti school or retake my cosmo test? Thank you
You're amazing. I am so grateful I found you and hope to meet you one day. Will you be at the Integrative Dermatology Symposium in October? It's in Sacramento.
Soo is this what I wanna be ( I was always intrested in skincare, skin products (dream to make my own brand) and give skin treatment) but not in a really medical way . SO IS ESTHETICIAN MY JOB
I've had my Cosmetology lic in CA for years specializing in hair but I've been wanting to crossover to skincare/ esthe. Do you have any advice for someone like me?
If I’m looking to go to school as aesthetician can I do eyelash extensions and micro blading once I pass state boards? Or will I need further training and licensing
How to get a job as an Esthetician if you have no experience it's hard for me but they don't realize everyone starts from someone where they should give me a chance
I live in Georgia Usa I want to apprentice you can get your license through apprenticeship any suggestions on how to get my foot in as a apprentice do I at least have to be certified?
It all depends on what state you live in. But you typically need to be a Registered Nurse to inject botox and juvederm. With the risk that is involved you would really want to have medical training to do those treatments.
pandabutter do what you wanna do trust me in the long run your gonna regret not listening to your gut. Your supposed to love your career not do it just because of the money
Hi! I'm a medical graduate from India and currently persuing fellowship in Aesthetics. How to get a licence/work permit as a medical aesthetician to be able to work in another country?
BJ22 how do you know? did you attend one? i was planning on doing my 600 hours there to become certified and then continuing to gain experience in other “continuing education courses”, for more specific areas of esthiology that i’m interested in.
BJ22 BJ22 I’ve been doing research and it seems perfectly fine to me. like i said... i’m only 19 and already live right next to one of the four aveda institutes in the country. it sounds like a great place to get my career started. i don’t know about the certification transferring to other states but i’ll ask them about it when i go to tour.
You happy you have even better opportunities being young best advice I can tell you scope for it just go for it do it the younger the better learn I'm 25 and I'm just realizing that this is what I want to do all I did was graduate high school like seven years ago
