Hey guys here in argentina im a owner of an AG where people pays and play with his friends im sick of people trying to use their grass regular football Boots on the ag This not just cause mayor lesions also damages the expensive ag , so using those tipes of boots its prohibited
I am a keeper, I made a foot save with FG boots on turf. My foot got stuck as I was falling and I've messed up my ankle. Luckily not a super long injury but it was a warning sign. I went online and bought AG boots a week later
Living in Canada I’ve always wanted an AG Nike Tiempo. A lot of the time I’ve ended up playing on dried grass in the summer, then a firm ground cleat is not that necessary. Durability seems to be better too.
On the profitability of high-end boots and technology; I'm 100% certain that the R&D costs on "new tech" get amortized across the entire range over a period of years. Think about how new tech starts in top end models and over time filters to the takedowns. Look at something like Flywire and how it is essentially standard on the Pro range, and in fact gets used on lots of non-football shoes as well. The margins are a LOT higher on top-end boots, but they absolutely make the majority of their money on selling the takedowns. Those top end models make some money, but primarily they exist as an aspiration. It's the same as in the automobile market. Mercedes has amazing technology in their fully loaded S Class, and they make a ton of money on each one. They make the majority of their money selling (leasing more likely) entry level C Class.
The CF soleplate is certainly better looking and definitely more cool, but I think the current soleplate, and even the ones featured on the Superfly 5/Vapor 11, is better.
@ 10:30, I did hyperextend my knee wearing the original puma ones on an AG ground about a year and a half ago. Them things have so so so much traction😂
Hey Josh. I knew you've been reviewing about the football boots. How about try to review few rugby boots? Perhaps you could do some research about rugby and talk about rugby boots. Cheers :)
Has he ever talked or done a review on the Lotto Zero Gravity? I remember seeing those on EuroSport magazines when I was younger and being like $400 but never had any local shops carry them. Those laceless boots just always seemed so iconic to me.
Couldn’t really find a good mg or ag speed boot from Nike so I just bought the mercurial academy because I’m not about to pay 300 bucks for the ag stud pattern on a custom elite, I also didn’t want a turf boot but also Nile needs a good mg boot imo that isn’t the lowest take down model
Don’t use fog studs I always thought it was fine and now I have a torn acl torn and flipped meniscus and class 2 sprain to my knee all from a small bump
edge nowhere I did the exact same from playing on an AG surface with FG stud pattern. Damaged meniscus and Torn ACL, currently waiting on an op which has taken 11 months up to now!
I know people have a lot of hate towards the puma evospeed because of the durability, but bedsides that in my opinion it was one of my favorite boots. Do you think that if durability wasn’t a problem the evospeed line would still be here today
The durability issues were only with a couple of SL models, that all came with a warning anyways. Some of the evoSPEEDs were OK, but for the most part, in comparison to other options available from Nike and Adidas, they simply weren't as good. It also never sold well.
You made that Video on the bootnerd channel in which you rated every boot, you said the old future is better than the future now. What rating would you give the old future?
I know u made the Neymar video on it but I was going to ask if mercurials are my favorite boot and I play on turf and natural grass equally and I can only afford one quality pair, should I get the vapor ag pro's to use on both surfaces. Thanks
that is an impossible question to answer without knowing your actual budget. If you have enough money to buy a current top-end model, you have enough money to buy 2 or 3 top-end models from last year or even just old colorways of current models. Turf boots are also way cheaper.
If you produce string bags, you have to name each bag model after their highly sophisticated rating. “Oh man. I just got my SR4U 8.76 string bag. Killer.”
Hi Josh. Im looking for some cleats for turf surfaces (sorry for misspeling english isn't my mothertoungue). I was thinking of nemeziz 18.3 but I not sure should I go for thise since Im pretty sure that other brands will release new boots so should I wait for couple of mounths or should I buy a cleat now and if I sjould buy it now which cleat do you recommend (keep in mind that I am willing to give only around 80$ for turf cleats since I won't be using thise in a match)
