The reason suicide is so sad is because that person felt so bad that death was an option - that they felt that they had nowhere else to turn - and that they were willing to risk so much pain to get out of the current pain they're in even if there is a single chance that it could be better. NOT because someone else could have used that time. It's not just a 'waste'
