Everyone, regardless of wealth, should be held accountable to all laws. Rich people simply have the means to hire expensive lawyers to protect themselves. I'm not happy about it either when the rich get away with it.

"more than 10 times the current US deficit" - hold on to that, don't forget it. Zero excuses for refusing to enfranchise the US working class and poor. We all knew the money was somewhere. Get loud about this, because the US share of laundered money can likely cover the entire US deficit.
The nerve of conservatives/plutocrats waging war on the poor and abroad and then asking how we can pay for X working class social system. I thought the panama papers were the moment this would turn around, but I fear this is going to be more of the same; no change.
@@nykka3 Um no. The US democratic party is decidedly right wing and corporatist. I would say there are few true billionaire progressives, as acquiring such wealth necessitates that you step on the necks of the poor/working class to get there, and you need to dodge taxes at the same time. The UK media has been utterly disappointing and silent on this issue since it dropped. A friend of mine works within our taxation organisation HMRC and told me that staff are being actively told not to read or watch anything regarding the Pandora papers, it absolutely stinks
I'm afraid that the disgust concerning this greed and corruption will, as usual, become partisan... And then, once divided, us little people will be able to change nothing. And the rich and powerful will simply watch us tear each other apart.
Wash, rinse, repeat. Hate your neighbor. There is nothing you can do to change things. We know the playbook. Sadly, a great many of us continue to fall for it.
@Abigail Stockwell No, they aren't. You've seen the protests, the way people behaved out of frustration. Liberation will come when the world's wealthy get slaughtered. Once enough people lose faith in the system, they'll come for them. I think the rich among us are incredibly naive to think the public won't start attacking them.
@Abigail Stockwell Violence is the first step toward that change. I'm not aware of one major social shift without the bloodshed. I wish things could be done peacefully. As a species, we haven't demonstrated the capability to act in accordance with peace. We always have to destroy everything first.

@Abigail Stockwell Offshore banks Accounts is popular to hide legal or illegal. Thé US requires citizens to provide report of FBAR ( Foreign Bank &Financial Account) for IRS purposes. Ill get to the bottom in a few seconds lol. Money is created from nothing. All Politics thrive on money. The world's central banks in every "first world" country rely on the dollar as their reserve currency and feed the US treasury black hole of debt or become overvalued and unable to compete trading anything globally. The vast majority are encouraged by media to admire the same people that own all media and create money from nothing.
