International humanitarian law (IHL) sets out rules for once war happens. States set-up these rules to protect the civilian population from hostilities.
IHL is built on three principles: Distinction, Proportionality and Precautions. All of which need to be respected for an attack to be lawful.

Why is war in itself not illegal ? That would be way faster to ban this practice than to give it rules no? These rules feel very hypocrite like why are you even considering authorizing wars

From my observations, only the Americans and most NATO countries have honored IHL. Therefore, it is a sick joke. Proportionality is illogical and, in essence, means that wars will go on forever. That is exactly what we are seeing in Ukraine, Gaza, Syria, and Lebanon. It is what we saw in Iraq and Afghanistan. Tit for tat is a strategy for sustained suffering and chaos.

How so? It covers the main concept of weighing the military advantages foreseen to be obtained by the attack (military necessity), over the loss and damage of civilian life or property. What in your opinion do you think should have been explained more?

In reality, Wars break all rules not mentioning such principles of Human rights which seem to be so vulnerable, technical-oriented, and so non-authoritative.
