I regret the surgery I hava depression anxiety an ulcer and my hatial hernia came back I started smoking again and the doctors won't do anything unless I stop smoking how could i with everything that is going on with my body and brain mean while I almost been living in the hospital do to the pain 😢
I had full on gastric bypass surgery in 2007 I was about 375# @ 6’8” got down to 180#, but am comfortably staying at 190#. You don’t need to join a gym or fitness center unless y’all just want to spend your money. Staying focused and motivated are the key. Walk with or without leg or arm weights, but don’t stop doing it. It the easiest form of exercise. Start small, even if you can only go a short distance. To this day there are still some foods I cannot eat
What???? Acid reflux? Seriously? After bypass surgery? I thought that happens with sleeve. I am diabetic and I have high blood pressure and I had sleeve surgery done 5 years ago I weighed almost 300 lbs and was bedridden barely moving without pain in my legs. I been suffering from heartburn since surgery, I am still diabetic, and I lost 74 lbs. I am very soon going to have bypass surgery, I got the insurance approval and waiting for the call for surgery date. Now to hear you say bypass surgery con is acid reflux that is just terrible. It makes me think why on earth am I doing this bypass surgery 🤔🤔🤔🤔
I know, this is what other prominent doctors who have been doing it for decades say Acid Reflux gets BETTER after Gastric Bypass but can get worse with the sleeve
@@oksanabundzyak199 My surgery was interrupted because of a fibroid issue and I was sent home same day and now I’m doing a follow up and to start all over again hopefully before the end of 2024. I need to do this because the heartburn is still an issue, unbearable and I don’t want to take medication enough already with meds.
People don’t have bad acid reflux with the gastric bypass. They have it with the sleeve. You’re absolutely wrong there. They actually recommend the gastric bypass for acid reflux and Barrett’s esophagus
I’m soon getting gastric sleeve or gastric bypass depends on what my dr decides what’s best for me I did my research about gastric sleeve and gastric bypass for many years now I think I’m ready to get gastric sleeve or gastric bypass done ❤
The surgery is a help tool, not a tool that does it all for you without you putting any effort towards your growth. It will help you lose the weight however, after that, it is your job to take over and make sure you eat healthy and maintain healthy eating habits/portions to maintain your weight loss.
I had the sleeve several years ago. It was great at first but then I developed Barrett’s Esophagus due to acid reflux. It’s the worst. Now planning to have gastric bypass because they say it can help my reflux. Worth a shot
I’m getting it for GERD. I’m not over weight at all. It’s a shame you didn’t address this side of the operation. Still a good video, just not relevant for me.
