Today we are learning about tritones and how they can be applied to rootless chords and tritone substitutions.
A tritone substitution is the substitution of one dominant 7th chord for another that is 3 whole steps (a tritone) away. The most common tritone substitution involves replacing the V7 chord with the bII7 chord.

JESUS CHRIST died for you on a cross for our sins. 3 days after his death he resurrected and is The LIVING GOD. I thought you said the tritone for C was F#. Later you said the tritone for C was the third (E) and the flat 7th (Bb). I am confused.

Basically a Tritone is explained as three whole steps away right so C and F#/Gb is a tritone. Being that most tritones are played using the dominant chord we use the 3rd and the b7 to express that particular chord. With that being the dominant chord would be 1,3,5,b7 so I can play the tritone in my left which would be the 3 and b7
