I can hardly wait until this kids' book is DONE and I can get back to my prose novel which is 100% in the cloud 100% of the time, instead of being backed up on my home server. What is your file system and backup process like?
Yeeaahh. Sigh. I had the joy of my hard drive failing a couple years ago, and eating all my scrivener files AND all my artwork. I should have backed them up, one might say, and i had, to two separate cloud drives, only not the recent things because it was slow and cumbersome--and i kept saying, "I need to fix that later" - - which turned out to be a sign that hard drive was failing... It was not a good month. I managed to extract the writing files from the drive eventually, but most of the art files were corrupt.
😱 NO! I think I'd break down and cry if that happened. Sometimes I wonder if I should have just coughed up the money for Dropbox or some other paid cloud solution instead of rolling my own NAS. I like having control over my own files though...
@@PaperTigerProductions I had both Dropbox and Google Drive syncing them (2tb each plans) , until I procrastinated figuring out what was wrong. I think on-site is smart, but cloud as a backup to the backup can't hurt.
