Hey Sue Bird, the faction of fever fans were reacting to huge amounts of name calling and racism coming from the other side directed at CLARK. They didnt start it. The physical and mental abuse directed at Clark this season has been rediculous and not dealt with.

Agreed. I basically look at how NBA runs things. Then I look the WNBA and I'm like man they are terrible. They have refs that are taking 10 minutes to determine a common foul. They got fans yelling crazy stuff to players. In the NBA they point these people out and they are removed. Now as far as the internet goes. They cannot control that part. Players are going to have to learn to distance themselves from negativity. Aliyah Boston talked about doing it herself early in the season. Thats a good idea because its not going to stop online.
I don't know what Sue Bird is talking about...she didn't give examples...she didn't quote anyone...just a general blah, blah, blah. I think wanting to play for Fever is not just about CC, it is also the vibe of the team. They seem to act professionally, they can be gracious in a loss and they all seem to be having FUN! Many other teams need some of that right now. No one wants to watch bitter bullies, that is the problem.
💯 agree. You can see the fun they have when you watch them play. Those Fever ladies just want to enjoy playing ball, and it shows. Means it's MORE than just a job to them. They know they spread joy to fans as we watch CC thread that needle and AB hustle for that layup, or CC driving to the basket only to fake out and connect with Mitchell behind the back pass for a pretty KM 3pt. And it's electrifying to see for us fans. Can't wait to see what the new Fever president brings to the team.
You are right, and I have to point out that there are other teams with a good vibe too. They are out there to play, not to bust someone up doing it. One of the things I have always liked about women's sports is the joy they get when it goes right. I like to see that. I don't want a bunch of mean spirited girls in a fight. Give me Minnesota, or Dallas, or LAS. I'd rather lose than play dirty.

Black woman here! I also argue against this concept. If the legal system can penalize you for racism then you can be racist. Like for instance, if I was a landlord (because black landlords exist) and intentionally denied all white and Hispanic tenants. I could be held accountable for racist practices. If it’s true that black people couldn’t be racist then the legal system would not penalize black people for racism.

My guess is that there using it as a way to possibly get more eyes for a championship game. They will announce a few days before game 3, 4 or 5 of the Finals in hopes it drives attendance and viewership. That or will FedEx it around christmas time so they dont have to admit she was in the league. 😂

They have to find it. Its not that easy. For right now Mitchell is all they got that they know can really play. But I agree that the Fever need more size and defense. They have No BIG body on the inside. New York got a big, Aces got one, Sun , Seattle, and several other teams. Fever does not have that big defender on the inside and that need a wing that can replace N.Smith and defend well.
I have never been a Megan R fan,,,, but this is the most rational and spot on take of the Women's Basketball story, that I have seen. Kudos to her and Sue Bird for this video. I also saw this coming, when I would catch the last couple of years that Caitlin was in college. I knew what she was going to come up against, when she went pro.

I think Coach Sides is doing a great job, with a very young team developing the chemistry and instilling her O. She has had a learning curve just like the players and appears to be growing and by extension her team is growing. I listened to her post game and she never said "they" but "we" didn't do this or that. She took responsibility just like CC did so you guys need to quit hating on her. Coach Sides is the reason they're in the playoffs, her and the players she coaches. People need to quit "reacting" emotionally and start thinking objectively about things. Put on your big boy pants.

I'm a young educated woman originally from the Bronx ' but CC brought me to the WBA & the racism from those other jealous women is sick & CC is dope af & if wasn't for her I wouldn't watch it.
Indiana NEEDS someone to PROTECT CC and, the protector can't have a significant other"s" on other teams... The Fever need a coach that grasps the concept of what the "D" is supposed to do!
Dunn needs to get out of, she never stood up against the abuse her star was absorbing . Fever loses Clark their done , much easier to get rid of Dunn and hire a straight woman or man with marketing experience.
Well said about Engelbert who needs to get her act together. For me the key things are 1. player welfare and take away names the non basketball and basketball incidences not called by the referees - this has been a major trigger of trolling 2. Marketing was non existent. For first time eyeballs to WNBA off the chart because of Caitlin. Promotion of best players of each team interviewed together prior to each game would have been great for fans on all sides to put them on the pedestal and it would have been a vehicle to integrate Caitlin with the best players of the league without the drama.
I would love to see them pick up Satou Sabally... She has voiced some interest but not sure they can get her. She would be such a great fit. And yea the commissioner has done a horrible job. These players are not used to being celebrities and they are in some serious need of social media training. Most pro sports has social media training and a huge amount of pro players don't even control their social media that much. These women on here taking shit personal and arguing with trolls. When the commissioner refuses to protect Clark from assaults, even attempts to blind her because some segments of the W support hurting her, she hasn't just failed at her job, but as a human being. I witnessed the competitiveness from the outset when Larry Bird and Magic Johnson first met on the basketball floor in that NCAA final four game way back when. They met again many times on the court in the NBA but neither one would say anything derogatory about the other off the court. Theirs was a mutual respect for each other as competitors and it actually turned into a great friendship when their playing days ended. I don't know how Angel Reese views Caitlin Clark but if they could form a mutual bond of respect and friendly competition on the court, I believe it would show the world that racism does not have a place in society especially in athletic competition.

I love what Lin Dunn said about prioritizing resigning Kelsey Mitchell, acquiring free agents, and I absolutely loved her emphasis on defense. The Fever cannot improve just a little bit on defense and expect to do any better this year. The Fever need to improve a whole lot with a completely different defensive mindset. I hope CC can adjust to this and have a positive attitude on what she needs to do this off-season to improve her defensive game.
CC has all the power here. I hope she does whatever she wants to. But also part of me wishes she would tell the WNBA to F off. They don’t deserve her. They don’t appreciate her. And they are absolutely nothing without her.
Every time the Fever plays an away game, that game is sold out. They come to see CC and the Fever, they ARE Fever fans. The rates dropped after the Fever got eliminated in the play offs because they ARE Fever fans, they don’t give a crap about any other team. Nothing racist here, the consumer just doesn’t want to spend their hard earned money on teams they don’t care for.
One question….why are the super stars from the NBA calling out the hate, racism and pettiness of the ladies in the W? Are they getting it wrong?
