Fruit trees are a lot of work. They have the potential to get a plethora of disease, so spraying is really needed if you want decent fruit. My husband was an orchardist for many years and pruning is also very important so that you control the size of fruit and health of the tree. I have asked my husband to plant a few fruit trees and he told me nope...and he rarely says no to any plant or tree.

It’s helpful to use garden hoses to outline different walkway ideas. Lay out one for each edge of the potential walkway, stand back and see how it looks.

You can use the reverse osmosis water with pole,hose and brush system to keep your greenhouse (or any other) windows clean. Its called a pure water or water fed pole system. Its what professionals use. Do it on a day without high winds, since the glass requires a small window of dry time (dust sticks to wet glass). Please, take this with a grain of salt. I am a long time viewer and you give me so much inspiration! I love garden design and I am going to school for this. Keep the west side brick pathway separate from your main entrance. Let it lead to somewhere immaculate, like the cut flower garden... or a fountain or small water feature in front of the cut flower garden. As for the main entry pathway, let it be its own vista. Maybe have the main entry pathway wider then the west side pathway so that it really draws your eye and tells any visitor that’s where they are supposed to enter. Having the two paths “merge” over the gravel is what the main issue is. If it were paved and had a brick path engraved within the pavement I think there wouldn’t be any issue. Idk? Just my opinion. Tough and expensive decisions. Whatever you may do it will be amazing! 🤍

Give up on leather furniture if you have cats. Unless you have them in a room that they can't get into. Owner of five cats and many foster babies. Only had one chair that was leather and it was an office chair. Wasn't even thinking when I bought it. Was destroyed with in one year. That's with two cat trees in the house.

When we can’t figure out how we want a path or a bed to be we use landscape paint or even hoses so we can see it!!

To teach your kitties not to scratch your furniture, get a cardboard cat scratcher. They usually come with catnip, so make sure you sprinkle some onto and rub it in the cardboard about once a week. This will keep your kitties interested in it. Then bring them over to wherever you decide to keep the scratcher, and start scratching it with your fingers, and make it fun for them. Then pick your kitty up and place them on it, and rub their little paws on it while you praise them. Make it fun! If they want to roll around on it, that's ok. Let them enjoy it. Then, if you ever see them scratching your furniture, pick them up, tell them no, then bring them over to the scratcher and place them on it, and rub their little paws on it while you praise them. They usually learn pretty quickly. Monty Don has similar orchard with wildflowers ant so on. Since you don't need to care for fruit trees other than picking fruits and maybe using some kind of pesticide it's better to let it get natural. Plus all the flowers for the bees and beneficial insects.

Delivery Trucks 😡 I have the same issue and the have actually run over and killed bushes that line our road. The road is 20 feet wide no excuse for it. I'm to the point where I want to put a bolder like that so it causes damage, petty maybe. 🤷🏼‍♀️

What exactly do you have in mind with an orchard? Is it a fruit plantation with small trees with narrow distances like on a fruit farm? Or a medow with bigger trees (in German that's called Streuobstwiese, you can google pictures if you want)?
