its used to be much colder up there when i was little...now a days with the climate changed and a lot of developments it's not as cold anymore, even the strawberries became less sweet.
motorcycle better laa than taxi, during rush hour you can't even go to pekan because it's packed as hell if you go by car. what a waste of time back then
You guys vids and exploring Malaysia was exciting to watch even I'm malaysian myself. Never get bored watching and yeah to the island we go lets go! Safe journey everyday mario and olivia 🤞
Okay. The hitchhike was everything. And the weather is rejuvenating, especially these days away from the lower ground. It's all about meeting other travellers here! There is a very long backpakers history here and it's legendary. Really. And you're on top of mountains! I could stay for weeks there sleeping in my car!
Cameron Highlands tips: 1) Try to avoid the weekends, as the road traffic is pretty bad as many locals would be visiting 2) Strawberries are seasonal, but they are available whole year round at Cameron Highlands. Having said that, some months they are sourish, some months they are sweet. But it is always great to support the farmers at farmers market. 3) Engage a local guide for a half day or full day tour, they are pretty good. They can explain how tea is grown, they can guide you through mossy forest and bring you hiking as well. Many of the guides actually work as nature and historical conservatist. 4) Cameron Highlands due to its cool weather used to the place British ppl go to to escape the Malaysian heat. There are a couple of places you can go for ‘traditional’ scones and tea like the Smokehouse, for the old British experience. 5) Yup, local public transport is not that great. So it’s best to engage a local guide who drives a Land Rover (that’s the most popular car at Cameron Highlands). The convenience, the local knowledge… it’s worth the price and hassle exploring Cameron Highlands
I rested with my family for 4 days in conjunction with Eid al-Fitr recently. I stayed in Brinchang because it was close to tourist locations. I just passed by outside Bharat Tea Farm but to Boh Teh farm and there is a quite interesting cafe. I enjoy nasi lemak with rendang. In Brinchang there is a sheep and alpaca breeding center. Night market every Saturday and Sunday at Golden Hill. I enjoyed baked corn and sweet potato wedges. There is a few food court. There is also a modern mall. You should try their ice cream too. There are other options for those who like to climb mountains enjoying the flora and fauna of tropical forests. Actually in Cameron Highland there is a vlogger's video that I saw renting motorbikes.
Actually your spot on , I am British and know that Brinchang is by way the better location on Cameron Highlands, one you are better at least to going out by car back down the mountain, heading to Ipoh , simply as the Jams are crazy , heading away from Tana Rata , sightseeing is so much better in Brinchang 👍
❤ first thing I liked to say that you guys are amazing and doing great work with all videos 😊stay safe and enjoy your travel hello to Mario and Livy ❤❤😊😊
In 0:47 correct it is cold and no aircond I live in Malaysia and went to Cameron highland you see the smoke it is not call smoke or what in Chinese we call it 乌 it means wu you can also go to camping the locations is also at Cameron highland the place is called one ground you can also see a lot of spider webs during the cold weather correct the night is very cold
Hello just founfd your chanel great content. Could you please tell me if they add 16 percent survice charge on accomadation and restaurants. And how it works any information would be helpful
Hi, thanks a lot We didn't notice any extra charge when we were there, but it could be hidden in the price. Food is a little more than other places in Malaysia but if you're not on a tight budget it won't make much of a difference. Accomodation is cheaper though
2 things. First its weird how western ppl take advantage of Asians, if Asians did the same in the western countries, they would be put in jail just bc of skincolor. Then regarding strawberries you should go to Japan or Korea and try strawberries, but they are really really expensive.
Im genuinely sick of hearing about grown men having to feed their families.... I understand that, but its not everyone else's problem. Especially not tourists problem.... Hope you guy have fun !!!!
First time I heard tea plantation smell like nasi lemak😅..You guys can rent a motorcycle, more freedoms to roam. You did not go for a hike? Mossy forest?
Nicely done guys...but please don't simply eat any fruits from any plants especially weed-type plants here because some berries are poisonous, so better ask any locals there to confirm the edibility of anything that looks like a fruit. Or to be safe, if you see that the locals don't eat it, best to avoid it, ok? 😊 It really worries me to see you eating that berry but i think if you're just trying it, guess it's ok. Tropical vegetation always offer us many plants that produces tempting fruits but most of it are poisonous in nature. So please beware of it ok guys. Anyways, love the effort to share your experience there. Keep producing more contents yea and wishing you an abundance profit and joy 😊
Exactly. For not listening to the advice of the taxi driver, you ended up in a crappy copycat version of the legendary British BOH TEA plantation with literally nothing exciting to see. Penny wise, pound foolish ?
Well..for me as Malaysian, Cameron Highlands basically is place for Malaysian especially western Malaysian to have vibe and feel like we are out of Malaysia, we are on Europe...so thats why most European doesn't feel anything so special about cameron Highlands... but for us as Malaysian, thats one of the place in Malaysia we can wear sweater 😅😅😅😅
Hi You two , ok firstly I am British and have lived in Malaysia for 8 years , Cameron highlands I have visited countless time, actually the best accommodation is actually in Brinchang !. kFC , MC Donald’s fast foods ifneeded l, A fabulous shopping complex that has recently been built in Brinchang, some great pubs there !. Also it’s nearer the Mossy Forest 🌳, near to the trail 1 for hikers . You can walk to all within a hour , getting around cameron and other villages to explore, You can hire a motorcycle or even get a bicycle, a lot more fun than a taxi and being trapped in ridiculous Jams. The best tea plantation is BOH Team farm opposite the nova hotel is the entrance, there’s a museum about the origins of the tea plantation 🇬🇧.
Guys just a word of advise , please have a bit of courtesy to pay a bit of money to the driver hitchhike u guys , its how we do here, unless u pay then good for you 👍🏻
You didn't go to the Mossy Forest???!!! Such a waste, the forest is magical 😅.....it's a good reason for you come again, maybe try an 8 hour hike to Mount Irau next time
Cameron highlands is no longer how it used to be 35 years ago. Its landscape has changed. It is much more urbanised and the air quality has deteriorated a lot because it has become super touristy and with the increase in human activities and businesses these few decades, it is very much polluted with litter everywhere and. Maintenance and upkeep of the public premises is very much neglected. Worse, you see traffic jams, even on the mountain roads that go to tourist attractions! All these have taken a toll on the flora and fauna and natural beauty of Cameron Highlands. The government has not done enough to preserve this once beautiful, lush and green mountains.
I enjoyed your video, but I think both of you missed a lot more attractions there such as Strawberry farms (A lot of strawberry farms to choose from), Animal Sanctuaries, Centrum Mall, Night Market, Night View at Tanah Rata, Kampung Taman Sedia. If you are on a budget you could rent a Mountain Bike to move around(provided at a few locations), it would be fun. Give it another try, you will enjoy.
I found the mini insects zoo very interesting. The butterflies that are so big like yesteryears and insects that look like plants. The zoo is behind/under the mini cactus shops.
Wow, what a throwback! Me and my now wife were there in early 2020 (pre-covid). I immediately recognized all the places. I remember we did the hike from Tanah Rata to the tea plantation. Great memories. Hope you had a good time 🙂

Orang Malaysia pun kena bayar mahal di Cameron Highlands takkan lah korang Warga asing perlu bayar murah... Cameron Highlands tu atas gunung Takdenya nak murah
Me and my family went to the tea plantation a few days ago and we payed 10 ringgit per person there was 6 of and we bought the ticket for getting down using the car. But we still had to walk
