Museums all summer were free this year. But it was only til the end of Aug. I live in Halifax. I love it. Been living here my whole life. There are so many free events that are put on throughout the year.

You can get a nice sized pizza slice and pop for under $7.00 at most all pizza shops.. and Halifax is FILLED with pizza shops. That sushi was definitely a rip off..

I live here - it depends on if you have a car, or a lot of money for driving services like uber. Near by communities are much cheaper, and many have lots to do - but if your main trip it to explore halifax it might be cheaper to just stay here.

@@randyhield4996 It would depend on where you're studying but most people at dalhousie and SMU live in res or in apartments down town - cost of living here is pretty ridiculous at the moment. There were actually so many people sleeping outside in tents that the police came and tried to "evict" them all, only a few weeks ago which caused huge protests

Thanks brother! If you’re a student, I would definitely suggest living in Halifax as it will make your commute much easier especially if you’re not planning on buying a car. It’s the not cheapest option but an easier one. You can also consider living in areas like Clayton Park, Fairview and Bedford - they’re not too far from downtown Halifax and the rent might be a little bit cheaper. Good luck :)

@@randyhield4996 What university? Dal and SMU are in the South End which is expensive. Other areas off the penninsula are more affordable but you would have to commute to campus. University students do get a transit pass with Metro Transit. It makes a big difference as an option to having a car.

In the downtown the Maritime Museum and Art Galley of Nova Scotia are where I would go. And the Annaleon Owens gallery of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. Thursday nights are free admission at AGNS.

What can you do in Halifax/Dartmouth on sixty dollars? Not very much given how prices are going up?! The best coffee in town is Java Bland Coffee Roasters on North street. I was across the street but had to move.
