What Can go Wrong with a Full Depth Routed Slot in One Pass on a Shopsmith

After successfully doing nine 5/16" routed slots in 13/16" red oak on his Shopsmith Mark 7 in 3 passes, he decided to see if his Power Pro could handle a full depth single pass all the way through the stock. See what happened and also hear the reason why Shopsmith recommends that you do a maximum of 1/4" depth at a time for cuts up to 1/2" diameter, and 1/8" maximum for cuts over 1/2" diameter.

Good information! I noticed that you have the Campbell-Hausfeld air compressor. Which I also have. How about a shop tour?
