In this video I show how I made some fabric tags from narrow upholstery samples. I was delighted to see Meg's video about making fabric tags because it gave me an idea for using some upholstery samples that I was given--seven little skinny books of them.
I used some lighter weight cardstock to back my tags, but you could use a heavier stock or even file folders, which work great for tags.
After I had the fabric glued down and some embellishments added, I finished the tags off-camera by stitching around them with gold or silver sewing machine thread. I also did some additional embellishments with toppers and putting some ephemera in the pockets. Photos of the finished tags are at the end of the video.
Thank you, Meg, for the idea, as well as for your current hashtag challenge, #readysetstash I am having fun working with your prompts. ‪@ChasingRetro‬

@@lindaspaperworks I have mainly used them on handmade ornaments but I love adding them flattened as embellishments to tags or other things I’ve handmade… especially when they have the engraved details. But when out of sight, out of mind… so a lot of times I forget I have them!! So maybe this will help me remember to get them out and use them again!❤️

@@joyjunktique I know what you mean about out of sight out of mind. I can so easily forget what I have. I look forward to seeing how you use some of them in some future projects of yours. Have a great weekend.

Hi Phyllis, I completely understand. I'm always excited when I figure out a way to use the things I'm not so sure I wanted. Do you keep them or pass them on? Or it depends...Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
