You can sense na unlike with pia’s interview, janine is carefree and doesn’t pay much attention sa pageantry. She moved on and her pageant life is just a part of her growing to who she is now. I’m proud of her. She’s so calm and relax, and doesn’t need to project a certain image anymore. I love them both. Continue to live you life Janine! Mahirap sa states, you need to do odd jobs but that’s part of the process if you have a dream. You’ll always be our Miss Universe Philippines.

I understand where you were going with your questions to showcase how amazing she is but Janine's straight up about her life here in the US. Just because you were a famous beauty queen doesn't mean instant success . I think she was trying to to get that point across that she's out here hustling. Whereas in the PI there's more opportunity for beauty Queens because of their well-respected status there .

What I learned from this episode: There's a difference between "I wanna win" and "I'm gonna do whatever it takes to win". Set your mind on the latter one, do your best and make sure you keep your eye on the prize.

ive lived in north america for 11 years na. and hindi ako ganito magsalita. eto ung mga trying hard na nakatira lang dito super english na. I can read, speak and write english fluently and when im not with my family or filipino friends i do have to speak english but i dont need to speak english all the time and its always easier to speak your thoughts using your first language. kaya puro cya "like", "you know" and "basically". kung nahihirapan kase bakit hindi na lang mag tagalog??? the people who speak english as their first language and filipinos born here dont speak like this.

Janine is correct in all aspect esp hustling here in NYC is very tough. NYC is the melting point in the US and everybody tries their luck here esp in her chosen field. Ang daming magagandang tao dito whether lalake or babae even just the average joe. Kahit nga yung construction worker or delivery guy na nakikita ko sa labas ng office namin ha ha. You need to really have good connection. Mariah Carey for one will not really be popular if she did not marry Tony Mottola as an example. Saka sa field nya i have seen videos wherein some models are forced to sell their “dignity” to be able to land big job.
I am a big fan of Janine, but after watching this video... I'm feeling some type of way. Her english is sooo cringy here. For whatever reason she has, as to why she's speaking just english.. that's her prerogative. But.. it just seems like she's trying too hard. Even Catriona will try to sneak up some tagalogs here and there. But then again, that's just my observation, and she's clearly not Catriona. But our language is sooo beautiful that in however many years she'd been away from home, you'd think that she'd use it any chance she gets. And trust me, number of years being away from the Philippines had nothing to do with not being able to speak it all of a sudden. I've lived here in the US 20+ years and I try to speak Tagalog any chance I get. It's great to hear Janine say some Tagalog phrases though. I still love her and proud of her accomplishments. Hope she keeps doing well in whatever endeavor she chooses.
Janine seem to be more articulate coming off the Miss Universe a few years ago. I do hope she makes it big here in the US though. However, for some reason she is struggling to speak in this interview. The phasing, and fluctuation are rather awkward, and she consistently use filler words, which is not embraced in speaking roles in Hollywood.
