Goodwill isn't a charity, it's a very profitable business that has free donated merchandise. The CEO is getting paid millions in salary Better to donate to your local homeless shelter or Salvation Army!
Almost everything is the same, its been years now people are milking the Ukraine war, so called donations all go to someone's pocket, the people there don't get jack, more then half of the country is already out and never will go back there, its a wasteland. Where I live now basically every second person I hear either speaks Russian or Hungarian, the Russians are from Ukraine and Hungarians are common tourists. They don't get jack s--t, all got a job and work for the living. So yeah all those so called donations go into NATO that spams bombs daily and the rest is in some CEO's pocket. There are tons of organizations who have rewards and prizes to give out to the top donators and even they didn't got a single thing so far, these skimp out on the tinyiest things. Twitch, RU-vid, all social platforms are full of these charity streams and people claiming how they never got anything, not even a Email reply.
I'll buy a car from him, got a dam lemon paid 6,500 for a 2011 chevy Malibu guy said it was a perfect running car well within a week I broke down its been to 4 mechanics and each one broke another part I just paid 600.00 it was at a shop for 74 days well he broke my oil pan I put 2,500 I'm so done single mother of 2 special needs children stuck walking really gets depressing sooooo fine sr. I'm Here 😊
Me too, I enjoyed it even with all the dirty! In FL we still have some 'pick a part' junkyards around but I'm done crawling around under cars to grab a drive shaft or taking a chance on an old alternator, etc. My car is too complicated for that now anyway...
Yes, I remember when I used to wake up on Saturday mornings and walk the yards, Not anymore. People decided to go to the junkyard wearing slippers, got hurt and decided to sue. Common sense is not common anymore
If you want to help somebody don't give it to goodwill used to be a non-profit organization. Now they're out there and it's controlled by 1 person and a greedy person. If you want to help somebody give it a Salvation Army, give the clothes and whatever else you're going to get, give it to The Salvation Army. They help people goodwill is a profit. Only organization now and this guy is getting rich. Because people like you don't know the difference. Goodwill is no longer a charity it's a business
Goodwill has been a profit organization for over 20 years. Same with Red Cross. The only Organization I know that actually operates with integrity is Salvation Army!
Hey I would like to know where to go and I just ran into your channel and I am in Indianapolis also so good to see another Hoosier on RU-vid I would appreciate maybe you letting me know the website for these vehicles I would like to get a Tahoe or a truck and you now have a new subscriber@@streetratgarage
I'm close enough to Indy and always wondered how these things actually worked. Thanks for a beginning to end process of everything. This has me intrigued...
I used to frequent an auto auction in NH where the non-runners (not smashed, just not running) went for $100 or less. I remember buying some for $35! Soon enough, the yard was discovered by foreigners and suddenly they added a zero to everything. It's certainly still possible to make money in this biz, but it depends on your mechanical skills and state laws, many of which require you to obtain a dealer's license and insurance if you sell more than a handful of cars in your name.
where abouts in NH? im from NH. wifes car shit the bed and still owes like 20 grand on it. she puts alot of miles on them for work so looking for a beater with a heater lol
Great run down on the vehicle auctions. I've been to a few general auctions and I've learned that it's "buyer beware" and you really have to go over the items for all faults before bidding. I've been caught so many times, especially motorcycles where they say "it turns over" when using the kick-starter (engine moves) but leaves it open to a lot of reasons why it doesn't actually start up. The auctioneers have good descriptions, usually all the good points but don't really point out ALL the bad points. I can see their side of it as they want to get as much as they can to earn a better sale commission. My dad used to go to auctions in the old days to buy horses and gave me good advice when I was very young. He said if you are buying at an auction "sometimes off goes the head, and on goes a pumpkin". Meaning that it's easy to get caught up in a bidding war and pay way over what you wanted. Go in with a firm top-dollar of what you're prepared to pay (plus fees) or you could go way over and get a rude shock when the fees are added, and it isn't a bargain anymore. Keep your vids coming!
Just ran across your video and really like the impound video. Great job buddy. I'm down in South Indiana so I might have to check out the local impound auctions going on around here. Keep up the great videos and try to stay warm. 5 degrees here tonight.
Used to love going to the auto auctions in Indiana. Worked with a guy who owned a junkyard in Muncie and would frequent the salvage pool auction near Indy. Always found the Strawtown auction to be a lot of fun. Anderson and Muncie had dealer auctions ran by the same owner back then, before Delco & Delphi packed up and moved south VT247
I used to go to police auctions in TX back in the late 1980's, you where always going up against dealers and they would just run up the bids to be mean
@@davegt27 Some of the auctions would do something similar. Where they'd run up the bid on the buyer, but no one was really bidding against them. The ghost bidder. Any time I'd find a potential purchase, I'd wait for someone else to start things off to know who'd be bidding against me. VT247
We used to go to Strawtown all the time back in the 80s it was a lot of fun. My friends dad bought a lot of really good trucks and cars there. I remember a late 70s square body Chevy with like 70k on it no rust for 500 dollars and a early 70s Catalina with a strong running 400 in it no rust for 350.00 the paint wasn't the shiniest but low miles and ran strong.
@@HoosierPete69. For sure! Liked getting there at the beginning when they auctioned off the scooters, mowers, snow blowers and other misc power equipment. Watching the livestock auction was fun too, but never bought anything on that side. Sounds like you got a few good deals there too. Some of my favorite scores was a 1987 Toyota 4Runner with the removable top and 5 speed for $375, a 1978 Mercedes Benz 4 door with a 350 Chevy & 700R4 that won the Borg Warner car of the Year award for $325, a working $200 Jet ski & trailer, a $950 1987 Red Trans Am with T-Tops and so many others. VT247
I scored an 87 Daytona turbo II from Belmont for $300 a few years back, put my wheels on it GN pressure regulator NPR intercooler and it was strong enough to break a 555 on street tires.
I love these auctions as i did them in South Bend, IN before covid and mostly bought and fixed up vans and minivans. so i might take a look and see so keep doing these as i'm only 125 miles north
I have bought one car there. There are some good deals. I look at this one every week. Might do it some more once I retire! It was good to watch your experience. Good luck with your sales. Thanks for sharing. ❤️😎
Hello sir! Great to see you finding your strides!! I just stumbled across your channel, and you seem to be a natural at it man! Hope things are going well for you and yours!
@@327JohnnySS I watch him, he is good. Hard to follow some times because he bounces around between builds. I think he got 5 different cars going right now. 😆
This is my first time seeing your channel. I just subscribed. I love this type of content. I’m gonna have to check out the rest of your channel too, but I enjoyed this video cars from the repo lot.
Thanks so much for this video! I flipped cars a lot when i was around 22! Taught my lil cousin how to do it too! It's a different day now! So cuz wanna start to do it again and i told him ok! Indianapolis is where we will shop!! Thanks Bro!!😉👍
Hey, I enjoyed your video enough that I subscribed. I wouldn’t mind seeing more auction videos, along with all the other interesting videos you’ve provided. Peace, DrRick
He said the impound fees start off at $300, and go up like $20 per day..... Where i live it starts between $350-$500 and goes up at least $100 per day..
In Arizona, if your dash light is on it won’t pass inspection, and you have to park it ,and if the plates are expired it gets towed, unless you park it at your own house.
I guess that’s the price you pay to be warm all winter. The truck that I am driving in the video has had the check engine light on for years. Mostly because I cut off the catalytic converters and added headers. Absolutely zero state inspections here and drive literally anything you can get a title for.
My neighbor was almost 90 when he died. But the whole time I knew him he went to the state auctions and got all of his cars. That’s how I got the care on my profile. 700 bucks with a blown engine got a rebuilt 1.8 (coming from a 1.6). And swapped it in for under 100 bucks 1700 bucks for a pretty much perfect car not to mention the hardtop is worth almost as much as I paid altogether
Hell of a video, appreciate you showing what these yards are like. I live on the west and work on the east side and have really been wanting to check some auctions out. Never enough projects!
Those hats alone would get u around 20 a pop. The Nike if Jordan's 100. And clothes potentially more depending on brand. Google each item before you donate. But hats will sell
That burb might have a 4L80, good score. Enjoyed watching this and you’re right the auctions really get me excited and I tend to spend a bit more than I wanted. I guess the thrill makes it exciting. With the clothes you found, I would look for someone down on their luck (homeless) and offer them clothes. Goodwill despite their name, is in it for profit. Homeless shelters is another good spot to donate to directly as their stuff usually is picked from a bin by the folks who need it. Good on you though, the heart is in the right place. Can’t wait to see that LS in a square body! Make that happen on a future episode; really enjoyed this weeks video.
Those aren't Suburbans, they are Tahoe's except for the one he showed, which is a half-ton. The half-tons with the 5.3 are usually paired with the 4L60E. Not getting a 4L80E unless it's a 2500 with the 6.0.
@@fredbennett3549 I am putting one together right now that goes into more detail on what you need to do how you need to do it, etc. on the public auto auctions so stay tuned
Former Mercedes tech here. Be very careful with any Merc at an auction. Only get one if you plan on parting it out. Generally speaking, it's a trap. They often get abandoned because someone got a repair bill they couldn't pay. Many models are extremely prone to water leaks when they sit outside. I had so many customers bring in Mercs they got at auctions that needed extensive work on the electrical system.
I can attest to the old adage about going to the Police Auctions when it is cold and rainy. Back in '94, I went to one in Texas, and I was one of like 5 guys that showed up, and two of them were with me, so we weren't bidding against each other. I was able to buy a 92 Dodge Viper that was ceased in a drug raid. I'm not sure exactly if it was involved in a high speed chase or what happened, but there was a bullet hole in the left rear fender, just above the wheel well lip and through the inside of the inner fender. Luckily the bullet didn't hit anything inside the car. I bought it for the opening bid of $2,000. I loaded it on the car hauler along with the rest of the cars we bought Fast forward a few months, and since I was "under 25 years old," I couldn't afford the insurance. So I sold it for like $35k.
@@robertdiehl9003 OK, you made me look and yes it looks good! However, I had a '72 "Rustillac" sedan in NY that fell apart daily until it went to the boneyard. I had bought it for $100 in 1985 or so...
3d scan the vehicles, then generate printed repair panels and mods that can cover over previous vehicle damage, and the cost of materials can be as low as less than a dollar to 20 dollars, including the paint and prepwork. I just scored a Revopoint Miraco all in one 3d scanner that has no spaghetti wire mayhem whatsoever, which means your laptop wont go sailing off a cart or table due to tripping over the always changing cable management that also must occupy the operators attention though sometimes is overlooked while focusing on getting a decent scan of not so easy to get at surfaces sometimes. It can do from tiny coin sized data, upto the size of a helicopter, so cars are a walk in the park for such a wireless type of scanner easy to move around with. Ya man, go with mods, seeing as your in prime territory for this due to your habitual purchasing of vehicles that you knowledgably see the vision for.
i got a 07 Audi Q7 3.6L V6 Quattro premium package suv with newer motor has 138k miles on it for sale no title which could be fixed and used on road if person: changes the 2 flex pipes ; high pressure fuel rail pressure sensor ; and both fuel tank pumps .. I took out the original engine with 186k plus miles out. Installed engine with 138k miles. i have video of it actually running as proof it does run. everything works lights signals horn wipers front and rear.
Great if you need an engine or parts but here in TX you have to get a "salvage" title which means in many places they won't insure it or you will pay alot more. And selling it is harder.. Great for a trailered burn out car or race car. Or get the parts you want & scrap the rest.
I knew a guy how bought some cars mostly diesels when the 6.5 td was new.... he made engines ready for boats and sold them quiet easy...... He only took the engines and gave the rest away to his friend that could not handle the shop of selling some parts that he got for free..... What a pity!!
Isn't actually fines that can't be paid it's the storage fees. In order to get a car out of impound like that the actual owner whose name is on the title/registration (have to show proof of ownership) must be the one present to get it, and then the cost of the tow plus usually $20-$25 per day storage fees. So if someone doesn't get out of jail for like 10 days they're looking at $500+ to recover their car. If they're waiting on a paycheck, the amount required to get it back just continues to increase every single day. Many can't afford it and just abandon the vehicle. It's really a shame because these are always people who can least afford to lay out that kind of money unexpectedly. And they're not necessarily bad people so everyone can just save their "well they shouldn't have been arrested in the first place, it's their fault" comments.
Yes sir... Great video. Do more of the auction cars every now and then, and how about taking one like that last one and do a couple of r and r videos showing you getting it ready for resale! Thanks. Later.

That was pretty cool it looks like a real easy business to get into I'm a retired Carpenter general contractor so I was looking for a easy way to make some extra money I used to flip cars in my younger days so appreciate your channel thanks for sharing and I'll be watching I just subscribed you seem pretty cool
People move into vans and that's driven up the prices. I've been living in a van for 13 years and just spent 8k on a new crate motor and new front end on a 1995 Chevy Gladiator Camper Van. $600 on the power steering unit then I'll save up for another trip around the States again.
The problem with these auction cars is you never know what your getting running or not they are all usually lemons.. you validated everything I thought about these auctions the min you jumped the suburban and there was no steering 😂
I would stay SO FAR AWAY FROM THE FORDS 5.4 Tren junk engines, 2 peace plugs now in a Van.😢Nope, the cheaper Chevys, YES TONS OF MONEY TO BE MADED O. PARTS 350 VOTECT N 4.8 OR 5.3 OR 6.0 L LS O YES SER 🤔 👏 🙌
You can buy newer cars that need some work, if you get the cheap and take the time to make them really nice, you can sell the at a much higher price. That way you sell fewer cars to make more money.
I bought a suburban just like that one but it has the extra seat 😢 the back and ac and heater in the back I've never seen that before 360 Canadian and a 88 firebird baby blue I was surprised it has a 350 5 speed both door hinges are shot so no one could get into it and paid 500 for it I think that car value is going up especially after I get it painted and go thru it breaks and so on
