There are 3 kinds of people in the world- the takers, the givers and the matchers. The takers are those who are always concerned with what they get in any situation. If the business is doing well-how much profit am I getting. If the relationship is going great, how does it satisfies their own needs.
The givers are concerned with helping with whatever extend they can. And there are the matchers who see that if they have given something, what is it that they have received in return and does it match what they have given.
But in this age of information we are realizing that we are in an interconnected world. We are not insulated from the rest of the people and we are all dependent upon each other. Global warming has made us all painfully aware that our actions are going to impact the whole world and ultimately our own future generation. It is great folly not to consider impact of our action upon others, upon the environment, upon society, upon country and that is why we all must consider both the processes- the taking and the giving.
Swami Mukundananda while answering the question put by Shreeja Shah, in this question and answer session, says, "Youth in my generation were more concerned with taking. But the youth of this generation are considering in giving as well."
He further lists what we are taking. From the air we breathe to water we drink to food we eat, we already are taking so much. We are already indebted to God to nature. The Vedas, thus, talks of five types of debt called Pnacha Rina-Dev Rina, Rishi Rina, Nri Rina, Pitri Rina, Bhuta Rina (debt to god, debt to Sages, debt to mankind, debt to the ancestors and debt to subhuman). पञ्च ऋन- देव ऋन, ऋषि ऋन, नृ ऋन, पितृ ऋन, भूत ऋन
When it comes to giving, the first thing we need to give is our sense of gratitude that is to acknowledge the debt.

Swamiji points out something, in this video, that we are habituated to taking for grant, we don't even give it a thought. The air that we breath, the food that we eat, the space in which we live, are all provided to us by God. Other human beings and other living beings also play a part in contributing to our lives positively. We should develop gratitude in our heart, which will enable us to become givers and contribute positively to earth and mankind. Thank you Swamiji !

On one side, we buy groceries from stores , travel to places in motorized vehicles and trying to enjoy every technology available. On the other hand , we are facing troubles in the form of climate change , terrorism , financial insecurities etc . We learn that the world is become more and more difficult to live in, because of pollution and depleting resources. Never did we ever realize that we have a part to play in this and our perspective about enjoying the world need to be changed. Swamiji clearly explains about our debts and responsibility to give back . Swamiji reveals the secret of this world and our position in this world in few minutes. We need to remember that we are receiving so much from God.

Radhey Radhey!!..Nicely explained by Swamiji Mukundananda that we always get all these material things like free water, air, rains, soil, plants, etc but while giving we always think twice. In short he explained that " In giving we get while in taking we lose more" as rightly said that "Tera Tujko Arpan Kya Lage mera" ( transalation - Offer all material things including mind to God as all is yours and what is mine !! ) Hari Bol !!

Swamiji's response to this question is truly amazing in that we, in the material world tend to forget about the zillions of debts of gratitude we owe to so many living and celestial beings for all they do for our welfare. Instead, we tend to think of giving and receiving in terms of mathematical ratios, thus becoming "takers and matchers" instead of givers. Thank you, Swamiji, for sharing such profound knowledge with us.

We do not realize it all the time, but Swamiji has reminded us that we are infinitely indebted to the Supreme Divine Personality, the source of everyone and everything sentient or insentient. When we truly understand this very fact, we will naturally develop a deep feeling of gratitude for our Divine Creator, and thus a deep desire to engage in devotional service.

Swamiji so beautifully explains that there are five kinds of debts from which we all need to be relieved. Those are celestial gods for material resources, sages who positively influence the world with their power, other humans who made material existence easier, all other living creatures for their contribution in influencing nature for our well-being, and our ancestors for the hereditary and socio-cultural traits. Thank you, Swamiji!

Very good perspective brought by SwamiJi,. We should first develop a deep sense of gratitude for everything that God has done for us, then keeping God in heart, do your worldly service as an offering to God. Mere intention to offer our duties and possessions to God is not enough, it must also be founded upon a deep understanding and a sense of gratitude. Thank You Swami ji i am blessed that i received this knowledge from You.

Amazing explanation by swamiji. Whatever we do should benfit to the humanity for the pleasure of god. So, how we give to society can be varied n infinite but it should be stamed from the devotional heart.

Swamiji says when we desire to do give in any way, try to invoke the quality of devotion by expressing deep and sincere gratitude to God for all the graces he has bestowed upon us. This is what invokes the desire to give and engage in all kinds of seva. Swamiji adds that the intention alone is not enough and that the actions steeped in devotion (karmayog) must follow.
