I think i have dysphagia. I haven't eaten in four days every time I will try to eat when I swallow I feel the need to clear or cough afterwards because it feels like I am choking. So now it kind of feels like whenever I am eating its more forced because I am really afraid of feeling like im choking. Also is there a certain way we should be breathing before and after we drink or eat ? I think I now have major anxiety when it comes to swallowing and I am focusing on every aspect of it more now. Thank you if you took time to read all of this and if you could answer this i would be so happy .
Leah, I am an SLP. Sorry nobody answered your comment here. I hope you are better now as I see this comment is 7 months old. The best thing to do would be to consult your physician. He or she would probably refer you to an ENT first. There could be any number of reasons you would be having difficulty swallowing. There are also other procedures, less invasive, than a FEES than could be performed. Your doctor would be able to determine the best course of action. Good luck!
@@seawrightstudios The Barium Swallow has a lot of radiation if I'm not mistaken which is why the FEES seemed more appealing with no radiation involved but didn't realise that the FEES could also be harmful considering its invasive. I'm just a patient and not an SLP.
