Soda can't turn into cotton candy if that soda has high fructose corn syrup in it. Any soda with corn syrup or dextrose is likely to not work as cotton candy.

Dear TKOR, IDEA FOR YOU! In the year 1969, I recall having seen cold-fire at a science exhibition at Bombay. The mixture used was CS2 & CCl4 in a 1:3 ratio by volume. The flame was just mildly warm to touch. Both these give harmful vapors. So you'll have to ensure ventilation.
when nate was blending the sponges with water i could just see how satisfyingly smooth it was to cut one of those sponges because calli was doing it in the background
