I picked up a scrap of metal from a power plant under construction. Took it home, contacted a machinist friend, turned it into a short sword (modeled after Japanese styles, but I can not claim I turned it into a Katana). Cost me only a few hours labor as a novice machinist. It does much better as a thrusting weapon than a slashing weapon. That said, pretty sure no human would survive being on the receiving end.

Reminds me of how people think all stainless steel swords are junk. I have owned mostly stainless steel swords, for years, and I torture tested some and they have not broken, nor bent out of shape and have held a decent edge and maintain a spring temper. It's all dependant upon what grade and who makes them. As a matter of fact, I own a 1045 high carbon shirasaya, and it dulls just like how people say that "all stainless steel swords aren't real swords".
@christophrodig5738
