@@SMor42 this is literally true. He hinted at it on the SmokingTires Podcast. He wishes it wasn’t just his face on his channel. By having nobody’s on the channel his channel/brand won’t rot away once he leaves or decides to do something different. He’s basically giving his audience weekly small doses of other car enthusiasts so that they will be ready for bigger doses later on. RU-vid Business 101: make your brand bigger then just yourself.

When the Murano Cross Cabriolet first debuted at whatever year auto show that was, I actually thought it was a really neat vehicle. SUV, convertible, AWD, sits high up... you can't go wrong! Somehow over the years it just became its own niche vehicle. Probably a good idea to pick one up now and keep it pristine for the next 20-30 years when they shoot up in value.

I saw one parked in a driveway near my house when I moved in and I laughed my ass off for like an hour. I ended up going to a few events this past fall that were hosted by the couple who owned it (they sold the car by then) and I couldn’t stop thinking of them as the Murano Crosscab people. I had multiple conversations with each of them and I couldn’t get it out of my head every time one of them spoke to me that this is the opinion of someone who had one of those unironically 😂

As a student in the early 2000s I did a internship with a small think-tank style engineering firm. All the tropes, all the quirks, with barefoot people playing basketball in the office and all. The boss and founder of the firm drove a Fiat Multipla and he took me with him to get sundaes for the team. I remember it being really weird because despite it being a small car, it feels huge inside, with all that glass all around you. You feel like you are driving around in a giant fish tank.

The Autech Zagato Stelvio is a great pick, I had no idea these were below $30k. I thought they were $100k+ cars because it's super rare and only actual collectors of this kind of cars know about it. Just imagine at the event, there will be guys in their brand new Porsches and Lamborghinis and whatnot, you roll up with one of these and everybody will be like "what the hell this guy got"

Years ago I went to a Cars and Coffee with my dad in our 1959 Austin Healey Bugeye with a rotary. We were parked next to a Dino and people were paying way more attention to us. This was back in the late 90s before Dinos had the love they do now. I still have the Bugeye, I'm just about done with another restoration and can't wait to get it out again.

A regular ЯVR would probably work too. I remember those on the streets when I was a little kid, they looked COOL! 3 cars looked absolutely sick in that era: the original Rav 4, the original CR-V and the RVR. And than came the original Toyota Harrier looking absolutely spaceship, but nowhere near as COOL as those 3.

Yeah, I know the Mighty Boy. It’s technically a coupe utility, like the El Camino. It is the only kei car coupe ute ever made, probably because that bed was too small to be practical. Kei trucks are mostly cabovers for a reason.

You're gonna kill me with the cookies on the Carrera GT 😂 I love the V12 Centuries. I saw a Vehi-Cross a few years ago, and I freaked out! It is the most ridiculous car izizu ever made, but I love it! I want a Smart Roadster, however, I don't know if I could fit in it because I'm 6,4. The Lincoln Blackwood would be cool too. Ford got a litteraly got a baseball and a screw and mushed them together, it was trully awful, especially with the pay load capacity. I'd love to have that Saleen Explorer, I NEVER knew it existed until know.

As a blackwood owner as well it is easy to maintain. If you treat it like the trunk of a car not as a pickup. It truly was ahead of it's time. It is a Lincoln town car you don't have to sit down into. Fits the SUV crazy world today way better then the 2002 period.

This was the best! I enjoyed that way more than I expected to! I know your talking about more modern cars for cars and coffee but I was at “Back to the 50s” car show and a properly “designed” Rat Rod car out showed beautifully restored hot rods that had 100s of thousands spent on them. One Hot Rod owner was so angry (jealous) that a rusty Rad Rod parked next to him had way bigger crowds admiring the Rat Rod that he yelled at the crowd and got in his car and drove away… 😂

I showed up to a Cars & Coffee and got the most attention out of anyone when I brought my light yellow 1995 Volvo 850 T-5R wagon that I paid maybe $5k for and spent another $1k cosmetically restoring it. This was a pretty big show too.
