No one ever talks about the fact that the bessett family lost 2 daughters in this, imagine how her parents felt??! I understand not many people will like my comment, but here it is anyway: Has anyone thought that maybe Caroline and John were in one of their epic fights and that's what caused their accident? I am not blaming or judging anyone, but it does seem like passion and jealous ran high in their relationship, especially on her part. She seemed to have many internal conflicts, many emotional and mental health conflicts that she didn't deal with, properly--with the correct type of help, and that led her to handle relationship problems the wrong way. I can certainly picture her arguing with him, shoving, pushing, slapping while he is trying to drive that plane, with a cast recently removed, and lacking the experience as a pilot. Recipe for disaster, right there.

YES! For years, I've heard this rumor on all forms of media from magazines and TV to the Internet. It has never gone away and there MAY be some kernal of truth to it.
Saw a TV documentary saying he hadn't learned to fly on instruments and when he was forced to fly to Cape Cod in the dark because his sister in law got delayed by Christmas traffic so no visual markers, he became spatially disoriented and crashed. I find it surprising anybody would attempt to fly a plane without this skill.
He didn't die in December. I remember that Saturday the day after. was in NYC that day. They had news everywhere. I believe it was july. Sometime during the summer anyway.

He was attempting to fly in conditions he was not trained for. Extensive research has shown that someone entering IMC without suitable qualifications and experience can expect to lose control of the aircraft in less than 90 seconds. he should have left on time, or requested help from a suitably qualified pilot. It was plane crash due to the human error. John was not experienced pilot in the dark and could not read instruments. He suffered spatial disorientation. Unfortunately he chose wrong route for that trip. One route is above land where lights below can be seen. The other route is above the ocean. When it got dark he lost orientation. If he would have flown above land he would be able to see and not be subject to spatial disorientation. He should have not flown at that time if the day without his instructor who offered to fly with him due to the weather and late time John was flying. 😞
It is possible that he also took painkillers due to his ankle pain ... and they may have been quarreling as his wife arrived late to the airport that day.
The cause:. His narcissistic WIFE turning up hours late (as usual) after having her nails done making sure it was dark when they departed. It was supposed to be Daylight flight which would make it easier to SEE!! She killed him in the end and it had been coming.

JFK Jr. was the same age as Grant Thompson when Grant passed away two weeks ago in an air accident. Both men were very kind towards people of all ideas, shapes, stripes, and colors. I love them both and am hoping to see them both again someday, just as with everyone else out there. Flying can be so relaxing and awe-inspiring if everything goes right...and yet, so mysterious and eerie if everything goes wrong. No other mode of transportation throws as many wild cards at you as flying does. Period.
He should have brought his instructor along, or better yet, not taken off at all that evening. There were more experienced pilots who chose not to fly that night. In the end, he died the most Kennedy death possible, all recklessness and ego at work, and of course, he took two women with him.

He was flying a plane that was too advanced for his skill set. As well, he should not have been flying that aircraft at night. He lost perspective, spatial awareness, right is left, left is right, right side up, upside down -- terribly irresponsible of him to fly that plane with his family on board.

His mother knew his nature...made him promise not to fly. He was a gorgeous, beautiful man. He should never have taken himself, nor his wife;much less her sister. It could’ve been others.
My cousin was one of their roommates in college. Not gonna say which one. Story goes, the older sister was going to the city to pick up an eight ball for the holiday weekend and was late getting to the airport and they ran out of daylight.
This was no accident and knowing about JFK, Jr., he would not risk the life of others. When he announced the name of his magazine it clearly was named George on purpose. They had a hand in JFK, Jr's death. I am sure of it. Very handsome young man, just like his father. Had he lived he would have done well in the political arena. That is what they feared him.
