Never did this but here goes. The water level is fine after the flush. My problem: Level of wtaer in BOWL for some reason becomes lower over time. Initially it fills ok, drops after a while. No leaks that I've seen! BTW,LEX, Fluid Master recommends putting a cup (upside down) over the fill tube in case there is debris in it.
Hi,what would you suggest for an Asian squat toilet that makes some noise and the water level goes down.. It doesn't seem blocked though.. But the water level goes down on its own after loud noise..
If you can't get it unclogged and there's something in there. Pull the toilet and break it to see what's in there and then charge the resident. Then, install a new toilet. Thank you so much for watching Lu!
Have the same issue, the tank fills fine but when I flush there is not too much water in the bowl, except if I long flush and completely empty the tank, then it fills properly, any suggestions will help. Thank you:)
Try adjusting the fill valve to let more water into the tank. Or maybe the flapper is closing too fast and not allowing the proper amount of water through. You can shorten the flapper chain so that it stays up longer and allows more water through to the bowl.
@@LexVance Thank you, I tried the water adjustment and that didn’t work, I’m guessing it might be the fill valve not filling fast enough, I’ll pull the tube off and see how it’s streaming. I can check the inlet water holes maybe they are clogged? But if they were clogged when I long flush it wouldn’t fill either 🤷🏼♂️
forgets there's anti skid lid on bowl, rips off tank-lid and sharts in it mega :)))) sadly this sums up the "whole worlds" brilliance level now days....
Hey Lex, do you want to make ten times as much RU-vid money? If so, you should start a channel dedicated to apartment maintenance from the *tenant's point of view.* There are 1,000 times as many tenants watching RU-vid than are Maintenance Techs and handymen. Example on this video on new channel... "Apartment Dwellers Unite!" Clickbait Title: "WTF! My Poop won't go down" Then describe the problem and the Tech's fix *from the tenant's perspective.* All ending with a satisfying flush. .
Lex makes the dirty maintenance show like dinner with the show... haha doesn’t cuss and say his job sucks... at least not on camera 🎥 hahaha 👍 keep up the great work Skiiid!
Cut that hose down a bit and slip in in the that groove in the flush valve. If the hose goes below the tank water line it will cause you problems bro-ham.
Right on, I was speaking with another subscriber about that. I've got toilets I did the same way 4 years ago and haven't had any call backs on them. I'll start using the clip again. I stopped clipping to the top because after 6 months or so, the hose was popping off the clip nipple and spraying water everywhere. So, I started putting the hose in the flush valve. Haven't been called back in years.
@@Michael-gb3cj Some how it drips water into the bowl by siphon. The resident who is OCD will let you know of the drip every 10 seconds and the toilet running for 2 seconds every 12 hours
@@fishrman29 Yeah I've had many of those, never knew the real cause other than obviously something to do with the valve, so I just replace 'em. Thanks for info
Lex, toilet flushes as normal and water in the bowl looks normal at first. But after the bowl fills the water level immediately decreases about an inch and remains that way. So the water level in the bowl is less that it should be. Any ideas?
@@you2449 Found out the toilet bowl is compromised. That is, there is a slight crack or leak that allows the water in the bowl to exit until it reaches the level below the defect. You cannot see it. The bowl has to be replaced. The test: you should be able to gently pour some water into the bowl and the bowl water lever rises but if it slowly falls to a lower level, then bowl is defective. You can also remove the bowl, place it outside on a dry, level surface and again, gently fill the bowl with water to an appropriate level. If you see any water underneath the bowl, it is defective.
@dc-wp8oc this has been my problem with a fairly new toilet. Did you see any water around the toilet bowl that leaked? I haven't on mine and it's sitting on a slab foundation. Your answer was very helpful, though.
Omg!! I have been wracking my brain trying to remember what happened last time my toilet did this! This video and your comment helped the lightbulb come on!! Fixed my toilet!! Thank you both!!
Thanks for sharing your expertise. I can't find anybody talking about my problem. When we flush our brand new upstairs 2-pc toilet it works impressively and the water level in the bowl settles at the proper level about the same time the tank finishes filling. Then, over the next 10 minutes, the water in the bowl goes away (all but 2"). After 2 weeks we can't find any water damage or leaks on the 1st floor or in the basement. Today I got on the roof and ran a garden hose into the stack vent for 20 minutes and I could hear that water gurgling in the copper waste pipe in the basement, so the venting doesn't seem blocked. What things can I do to diagnose where the water's going and why?
@@LexVance Somebody said unseat the toilet and prop the toilet up on 2x4s to watch the possibly-cracked bowl leak into the floor drain. Does such a procedure have a name I could Google?
I got problem, after I flushing the water, the water refill the water bowl perfectly, but later on , the water gone !!! Only very tiny amount remain on the water bowl. What should I do??
So, what if it’s filling up but when you come home at the end of the day it’s empty? It’s not leaking because my downstairs neighbor has no water leaking in. Thanks to anyone who answers.
@LexVance OK I though it was either that or a venting issue.I tried plunging but no luck.Going to rent a snake tomorrow and run it through the line. Thanks for the quick reply sir.!
Now, what makes the water level drop AFTER the flush? I mean overnight the bowl goes from full to low, then stops at the low level with half the water in the bowl gone.. Doesn't seen to be a leak as the ceiling and pipes underneath and to the sewer are dry.
Hey Lex , my name is Mark and I'm using my girlfriend's phone bc I broke mine under a house plumbing. Please let me know about getting a job where you work. Love your vids along Steve lav lol
Hey lex, whats your take on the Gerber toilets. My super recently changed out my toilet and replaced with the gerber 1.28 gpf/4.8lpf which Maintain a low water bowl which leave poop stains a not so good flush....? From a building tenant.
Wow thanks you just saved me now my toilet does run I ain't had time to fix it but we just turn it on from the faucet behind the toilet fill it up and then flush it then shut it back off but just now I flushed it and it wasn't holding the water like it usually does like the water suck all the way down I did that twice and then when you said that it's probably clogged I flushed it and it was clogged it was clean water thank God but you just saved me thank you I put the plunger unclogged it and now it's perfect again
At 3:30, I can't get a bucket under the tank when I go to pull the fill valve out. The bathrooms I work in are rather compact, the toilets are too close to the bathtub. So I have to use a big sponge and bucket on top to remove the excess water.
I use to all the time until they started popping off the nipple and spraying water everywhere. Never happened at a descent hour either. Always at 2:00 am when I'm on call. 😆 Thank you so much for watching Mike!
I really like your videos skid, I'm also a maintenance tech and I've learned a lot from you ,thank you for doing this. Greetings from the Bay Area in California.
My toilet bowl has low water, i keep adjusting the level with the screw driver but the water level in the tank won't go past the water level line, there isn't any change in the level of the bowl. Is it normal that it won't make a difference even if i try to adjust it?
@Lex Vance it's the Delta Foundations toilet. Brand new, literally just installed an hour ago. Maybe the water is where it should be but it seems low compared to other toilets around the house. I'd like this one higher since the toilet is the powder room, i don't want people's doo doos hiting the porcelain like you said.
Thank you for your response. It appears there is no clog, since it flushes good. What I did notice is for some reason, the tank does not empty all the way, it only empties half way when flushed and therefore the tank fills up with water before the bowl reaches the correct water level.
@@thequyenNo I have not. I called a plumber and he too couldn't figure out what's causing the issue. What I have opted to do, is to hold the flush handle until I can hear the water has completely emptied from the tank and release the handle at that point.
