Wheels is odd. Crepeau is clearly the number one keeper, hands down. St Claire is a good keeper but Crepeau has been outstanding. To even mention other keepers other than Crepeau and St Claire barring injury is hilarious. Come on Wheels, this was the easiest question to agree on.
I know the Chilean team very well, and we will loose if we play like we did vs Peru. Gareca, the new chilean coach, is very capable and did miracles with Peru in copa americas of the past.
Crepeau unlike every other annoying goalie, he doesn't yell and scream at his defenders after every save. He just points out a couple of things or brings up his teammates and moves on. It breeds confidence into the outfield players.
I'm 100% on-board with Kone. I believe in the kid. Kone, Eustaquio, Oluwaseyi, Bombito, Cornelius, Crepeau, Davies, David, Shaff will be an excellent core for the next 5-7 years - one that can compete on even terms with the Mexicos/USAs of the world and even challenge top 10 teams.
Why is everyone saying that the draw is enough to see Canada through? In Copa, overall goal differential is a #1 tiebreaker. Yes, it is almost inconceivable for Peru to beat Argentina, but it may happen, and Argentina is through already, with +3 goal differential right now. If Peru wins even by a single goal, it would bring their goal differential to zero, and if Canada ties Chile that would keep their goal differential at -1. With both teams tied on 4 points at that point, Peru would go through despite Canada winning a head-to-head match.
Shaff won't do what he does while starting. But Chile's squad is old and their legs will be more tired than most by the second half. For him it'll be like playing Sunday League players if he comes off the bench.
Forwards are too isolated. Time to go with the 4-2-3-1 and replace Larin with an attacking midfielder. No point in starting two strikers if you cant get the ball to them.
@@KakisKakis-tk7rv Ya its tough now but an option is pushing Kone up as No.10 and bringing another deep lying mid in his place, like a Choinere. Kone is a good ball carrier/dribbler and would create more in the final third. Hoilett wouldve been a great option after the season he just had in Scotland but he got hurt in training.
@@issedoesit279 yup, but Koné’s been far too careless with the ball these last couple of games , there, sigh!!!!… gotta really step it up Sat. There!! 😳
@@KakisKakis-tk7rv true he's been careless but thats why i think he's a better fit higher up the pitch. I dont think he's defensively sound enough to play in a double-pivot.
I do not agree with Kone. Yes he is very talented but I watched him over dribble and turn over the ball a lot against Peru. Things were more controlled with Osorio in there. In terms of Canada winning, it depends on Jesse Marsh with his lineup decisions. He made some horrible decisions last game and it almost cost us. We were thoroughly outplayed and much of it was due to the lineup he had. Kone struggled badly and Laryea should not have been in the starting lineup over Buchanan. Made absolutely no sense. Have Buchanan, Osorio and Shaffelburg start as it gives us a better opportunity to win. Kone is the future and is very talented but he was awful last game
For the sake of debate, I'm going to disagree with you on a few things. First, you reason that Kone struggled badly and therefore Osorio should play. But then you claim that Buchanan, who has struggled more than Kone, should play and Laryea shouldn't. For me, Kone starts. You can always finish with Osorio if needed. Laryea made a lot of sense against Peru. He's gritty, crafty and adds a layer of experience and truculence that was required in a game against Peru. Buchanan hasn't added much value of late and I was hoping by subbing him in, he'd show a spark, but he didn't. Buchanan is a huge key for Canada and I hope he gains his confidence back soon. As for Marsch, this was his 4th game. I'm not sure what expectations you have of a new coach who needs to see in game play what pieces he has and how they play under his system. I have no complaints about his starting lineups (at this point in his tenure) and think his substitutions were spot on against Peru. I think in time, you will see Davies starting at left-back instead of a winger which has a positive trickle down effect. I like Shaffelburg, but I believe his greatest strength right now is coming off of the bench. His north / south speed game inserted against fatigued opponents work best to his advantage. I believe Shaffelburg starting in a friendly against the US or Mexico would be the best time to see that happen. I think Liam as a starter being subbed by Shaffelburg is better than vice versa and in my mind they both should be playing down the left side. Canada hasn't been great down the right side and I think Marsch thought Millar could help strengthen that side of the field. Circling back to Kone, now that Marseille has a deal in place, hopefully that settles him down. His quick rise, plus the behind the scenes activities surrounding Marseille have likely been very distracting to a young player who probably has felt he has had to do a little more to justify things. My lineup against Chile: Crepeau Davies, Cornelius, Bombito, Johnston Millar, Kone, Eustaquio, Buchanan Larin, David Substitutes: Shaffelburg for Millar Laryea for Buchanan Osorio for Kone (depending on how Kone is playing) Oluwaseyi for Larin Kamal is an option, but his lack of quickness / speed make me nervous.
Wheels, I know you’ll not read this (none of you presenters do or respond to any consensus that we present) but you are just the contrarian or maybe the Debby Downer. They won in a game where they didn’t expect that physicality or those type of dark arts games. I think they will be more prepared for the worst. But do the comments matter? Probably not. It’s more like Whose Line Is It Anyway. 🤫
Its do or done for chile so canada has to win but it will be hard, chile has always been scrappy and theyll be ready for a battle so they can get to the QFs, Canada has to be ready and smart for that match
I think Kone needs to find a way to play with a bit more urgency without loosing that calmness on the ball. He looked almost too casual against Peru and made some very very simple mistakes. He's young though so you can expect the inconsistency.
Selama Canada tahan dari permainan yang ketat dan keras dari Chile dan tetap fokus pada membangun serangan ,Canada akan mendapatkan hasil yang baik . Yang pasti pertandingan nanti akan keras dan ketat terutama lini tengah
